VHONG NAVARRO – The Showtime host expressed his heartfelt message to his legal team amid the victory of his case against Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee.

Deniece filed charges against Vhong who stood by his not guilty plea on doing anything against the model. Deep investigations that went on for years sustained the legal battle between the two (2) celebrities and the other people involved in the incident.

In September 2022, an arrest warrant was released against the Showtime host. He voluntarily surrendered to the authorities of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). He was detained for months.

In December 2022, Vhong Navarro posted bail at Php 1 million. The Court allowed him to post bail for his temporary liberty citing that the evidence of the prosecution against him were too weak to allow the continued detention of the TV host pending the trial of the case.

After around two (2) months since he posted bail, the case against the Showtime host was junked by the Supreme Court 3rd Division citing the following:

“Indeed, no amount of skillful or artful deportment, manner of speaking, or portrayal in a subsequent court proceeding could supplant Cornejo’s manifestly inconsistent and highly deficient, doubtful, and unclear accounts of her supposed harrowing experience in the hands of Navarro.”

A few days ago, in May 2, Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) found Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee, Simeon Raz, and Ferdinand Guerrero guilty of illegal detention case that actor-TV host has filed against them.

The father of Deniece Cornejo believe that they are a victim of “trial by publicity”. Cornejo, Lee, Simeon Palma Raz, and Ferdinand Guerrero are sentenced by the Court to life imprisonment.

Following the victory of his case against Cornejo, Lee, and two (2) others, Vhong Navarro took to social media a heartfelt message for his legal team. It came along with a photo of them. Through the post, the Showtime host expressed his gratitude to his legal team including Attorney Alma Mallonga for being with him until the end.

“Maraming salamat po sa inyong pagsama sa akin hanggang sa dulo,” Vhong wrote.
