Fans of McCoy De Leon and Elisse Joson were shocked and heartbroken when the actor officially confirmed that he and Elisse had gone their separate ways. However, what worried many people the most was McCoy’s unstable mental state after the breakup, even thinking about ending his life!
In a recent interview, McCoy De Leon spoke for the first time about the state of his relationship with Elisse Joson. With a choked voice, the actor confirmed that they had officially broken up after a long period of crisis in their relationship.
*”I didn’t want this to happen, but there are things that can’t be saved anymore. I tried my best to keep my family together, but things are not the same anymore.” * – McCoy shared regretfully.
The couple was once considered one of the most beautiful love stories in the Philippine entertainment industry when they met on the show **Pinoy Big Brother**. They had a lovely daughter together, but it seemed that even that could not save the relationship.
The breakup was not only a huge shock to fans but also seriously affected McCoy’s spirit. In an emotional moment, the actor admitted that he had negative thoughts and even felt like he didn’t want to live anymore.
*”I had sleepless nights, feeling so bad. There were times when I didn’t know if I could continue, but then I remembered my daughter. I knew I couldn’t give up.”*
This confession made many people feel heartbroken. No one could imagine that McCoy – who always appeared cheerful and full of energy on screen – could fall into such a dangerous mental state.
Although McCoy did not reveal details about the reason for the breakup, many rumors said that their relationship had been showing signs of cracks for a long time. Stress in family life, pressure from work and unresolved conflicts may be the main reasons leading to this outcome.
Some sources also revealed that there may be a third person or a huge difference in life views between McCoy and Elisse. However, neither of them has officially spoken out about this.
While McCoy publicly admitted his pain, Elisse Joson remained silent in the face of all the noise. She only posted a photo on social media with a meaningful status:
*”Only you know what is best for you.”*
This led many people to speculate that Elisse may have been the one to take the initiative to end this relationship. Some people supported her decision, but there were also many opinions expressing regret and blame.
After McCoy revealed his alarming mental state, many fans expressed their concern and urged the actor to stay strong. Comments on social media were filled with words of encouragement:
– *”McCoy, stay strong! Think of your daughter and those who love you!”*
– *”Don’t give up! Everyone has a hard time, but you will overcome it!”*
– *”Love can be lost, but life goes on. You still have a future ahead of you!”*
Many colleagues in the entertainment industry have also expressed their concern and willingness to support McCoy during this difficult time.
Although the breakup is painful, it is probably the best decision for both of them. Currently, McCoy said he will focus on his work and his daughter to overcome this difficult period.
As for Elisse Joson, many people hope that she will also speak up soon to clarify everything and share about her new journey after the breakup.
No matter how heartbreaking this ending is, hopefully both McCoy and Elisse can find their own happiness in the future!
McCoy attempted suicide twice; separated from Elisse
Trigger warning: Mention of suicide
Did actor McCoy de Leon and his partner Elisse Joson, the mother of his daughter Felize, really separate?
McCoy did not directly say that “Elisse and I are no longer together” but all his efforts now are for his daughter Felize and admitted that he can borrow the child anytime and they always bond.
Ogie Diaz interviewed McCoy in his vlog “Ogie Inspires” which was uploaded last night and here the actor shared that he almost ended his life.
“There was an incident where the Lord just took me down with one snap and was about to risk my life because at that moment I said, ‘Lord, if anything, what is your plan for me? You take care of it.’
I just drove my motorcycle everywhere, I didn’t know where I was going (I was going fast), but thank God…(he is safe),” the actor said and advised the audience not to do what he did.
Ogie asked directly, when McCoy wanted to end his life (suicide), how did he realize that he had done the wrong thing? When I was riding my motorcycle, Mama Ogs, I was going up Rizal and I thought, take care of it. I reached a cafe where I was the only one watching, just a city view. I saw an image in the clouds that (showing the picture at the same time) I posted this, eh.
“There was a baby and a guy, there were only two of them, I said ‘Lord, you still have a plan for me because I am still alive, I am still here (now). That’s where it ended and that’s my Felize! And I can’t deny it anymore. And that’s my reason to continue with my life,” McCoy recalled.
Ogie said that Felize saved his father. “Twice (both gestures),” the actor emphasized.
Ogie added, “Just because Felize saved you doesn’t mean physically.”
“Yes, no. There was a time when a lot of people judged me and I just accepted it. Because I’m the kind of person who doesn’t say what’s going on with me. And there was a point when we separated (with Elisse) and I had my own place to stay and we were far apart, I wasn’t with my family, I went solo, I separated because we (with Elisse) weren’t okay.
“I stayed in a condo that was separate by myself and then and there was a picture that came out (on social media) and that was what they said was the reason but it wasn’t (because) it hadn’t been okay for a long time.
“And that’s when I was told that I wasn’t a good partner and at that moment there was an occasion (like) Christmas, New Year when I was alone and I didn’t have any family with me, it was the first time because I chose to be alone,” McCoy said.
This was his second attempt to end his life.
I was at the edge of the window and I said, ‘I don’t want to because I can’t protect myself, how can I save myself because I don’t speak.
“I held it in, I know I have a reason, eh, but I can’t speak, I prefer not to speak because it’s already a mess.
“I just requested to see the picture of my child and after that I realized that from now on I can continue my life for my baby,” the actor confessed.
The picture McCoy wanted to see was sent to him via cellphone and then he thought about what Felize would be like if he was gone.
“What about her? I don’t want…(shocked) I don’t want her to grow up without a father (voice raspy). Just so everyone knows, I’m only saying (this) now because it’s been too long.
“Every time I go through something, there is a problem, he always comes to see me so that I can be okay, I love my son so much,” McCoy said in a raspy voice as he simply wiped away his tears.
He added, “That’s why it’s my birthday, right Mama Ogs, when you celebrate your birthday, you celebrate life, I said from now on I won’t celebrate my life, I will celebrate my birthday always about my son, pretending to be in the park, at a kids party, as long as it’s always about Felize.”
And because the actor was shedding tears, Ogie handed him a tissue so he started laughing.
“Ha-hahaha! I’m just going to promote and I’ll keep crying (wiping his eyes at the same time),” the young father said with a laugh.
Ogie replied, “That’s how it is when you talk about your son, your son is really your weakness, so, he’s the one who keeps your life going, Felize.”
“Yes!” the actor quickly replied.
Additionally, “I told Kuya Coco (Martin), ‘Brother, I couldn’t do this Batang Quiapo if it wasn’t for my son. And maybe this is what I did in the In Thy Name movie. I don’t know how I found the strength to not get sick because my son inspired me.”
McCoy went back and forth between the taping of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” and the shooting of his movie “In Thy Name,” which is a true to life story of a priest.
And McCoy also admitted that whenever he wants to see his son Felize, he sees her and is with her.
“Yes!” she immediately replied.
He said his son watches “Batang Quiapo” and because he has been so quiet in the past episodes, McCoy tells Felize that it’s just work and not real.
“I also want to raise him in reality, not fantasy. Her mommy (Elisse) is always there, she never fails and I always tell her that ‘you’re the perfect mom for her, no one else can replace that, you’re the best mom for her,” McCoy said to his former partner.
Ogie said, “That’s already pretty clear because it was just recently this Feb (2025), didn’t you (your family) go to Japan, Elisse posted pictures with your family, so you’re okay? Okay, that’s all. Ha-hahaha!”
McCoy and Ogie laughed, understanding what Felize’s parents’ real score was.
McCoy also mentioned that as artists, when they are always asked about their private lives and no matter what they answer, there are always things that still come up.
“We just have our own way of protecting our life and my life is my family just to make it clear to everyone,” the actor emphasized.
According to Ogie, he wants to respect what McCoy wants to share about their family’s private life and doesn’t want to bother him with what netizens and viewers of the “Ogie Inspires” vlog want to hear.
McCoy added, “In this day and age, there are so many wise people. Some are right but some are just not okay.”
And the bonding moment between her and Felize is physical play, rough play, “I don’t want her to be modest, I just want her to be natural. And because I’m the one who has work for me, she asks like ‘daddy can you buy me.. can we go to Disneyland? We just got together and that’s our dynamic that I make her happy with things like that.”
To be fair to Elisse, if it’s true that she and McCoy have been apart for a long time, she shouldn’t be judged when she was linked to Joshua Garcia because technically she’s single.
