The Philippine entertainment industry has been shaken again as news of Kim Chiu’s resignation has been widely reported. The reason is said to be related to violations of regulations of the Film and Television Rating and Classification Board (MTRCB).
According to multiple sources, Kim Chiu was warned by the MTRCB for an incident in a TV show she participated in. The content of the violation was not disclosed in detail, but it seems that the problem was serious enough to cause the actress to face great pressure from public opinion.
Previously, the MTRCB has made strong decisions against TV shows that violate broadcasting standards, including temporary suspension or ban. Therefore, it is not surprising that Kim Chiu’s incident has become the center of discussion.
Although there has been no official announcement, multiple sources believe that Kim Chiu voluntarily withdrew from the show after the incident broke out. Many fans expressed regret over the decision, while others questioned whether it was a strategic move to avoid legal trouble and damage to her image.
The online community has mixed reactions:
– “Why did she have to resign? Something is wrong here!”
– “If Kim Chiu really violated the rules, she should take responsibility, but I hope it’s not too serious!”
– “Is MTRCB being too harsh on artists? Kim Chiu is just doing her job!”
Leaving the show could affect Kim Chiu’s career in the future. However, if she decides to take a break to regain her spirit, this could be an opportunity for her to come back stronger in the future.
Is this the end of a journey, or just a temporary setback before Kim Chiu has a spectacular breakthrough? Let’s wait and see what happens next in this controversial case!
Kim Chiu’s Reaction To “It’s Showtime!” 12-Day Suspension By MTRCB
Kim Chiu said ‘vibrator’; It’s Showtime could be MTRCBed again?
How true is it that the “violations” of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” have increased again at the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board or MTRCB because of the words spoken by its host Kim Chiu?
According to the PEP report, the word Kim allegedly said unintentionally was “vibrator,” during an episode of the show on August 2, 2023.
The aforementioned video is circulating on TikTok where Kimmy, Tyang Amy Perez and Vhong Navarro are with him in an interview with a father who is a “Tawag ng Tanghalan” contestant.
In the middle of the interview, Kim praised the contestant’s voice timbre.
“Your voice vibrator is beautiful,” said Kim.
“She could be a radio announcer,” Vhong poked.
Kim seemed to realize that she had said something she shouldn’t have, so she corrected the correct word she should have said earlier.
“Vibration. Voice vibration.”
At this point, the screams from the audience could be heard, as well as Vhong’s facial expression as if he was holding back laughter.
This garnered various reactions and comments from netizens.
“The OA ha! That’s all!”
“They should be more careful now especially since the MTRCB deliberations aren’t over yet.”
“Kim said Vice just calm down, there’s still an issue.”
“You’re not allowed to go out, but you still go out.”
“Okay, go ahead, haha, you’ll get even more screwed.”
“It’s crazy! Even when Kim Chiu said on TNT the word vibrator instead of vibrato because she was praising the contestant’s voice and p*kp*k short, she also reported it to MTRCB even though it was obvious that what she said was just an innocent mistake.”
It is not yet certain whether this incident will be included in the MTRCB’s deliberations on the sanction the board will impose on them, allegedly due to the multiple complaints and violations against them.
The verdict is said to be released on the program next week.
