MANILA — Anne Curtis did not back down from sensitive questions related to infidelity, admitting that she was once in a “gray area” where the recency of a breakup made her feel that she cheated when she started seeing someone new.

Curtis, along with her big-screen leading man Marco Gumabao, were asked about the topic in the August 17 episode of “Gandang Gabi Vice,” in light of the premise of their upcoming movie “Just a Stranger.”

In the Jason Paul Laxamana film, which is scheduled for an August 21 release, Curtis and Gumabao portray strangers who meet in Portugal and start an affair, despite both being in committed relationships.

“Have you ever cheated?” was host Vice Ganda’s question to Curtis, who is also a close friend.

The 34-year-old actress, who is now married to restaurateur and vlogger Erwan Heussaff, said: “Noong bata ako.”

“Parang gano’n,” she answered, when Vice Ganda clarified whether she dated someone else while still in a relationship.

“Hindi ko malaman kung considered cheating siya noon, lalo na kung hindi na kayo, pero kayo. Kaka-break niyo lang, so rocky, gray area kung considered cheating, kung mahal mo pa ‘yung tao… Wala [na kayo], pero ‘yung nag-uusap,” she explained.

Curtis declined to identify the persons involved when Vice Ganda asked whether he knows them, but did confirm that she was caught. “Siya naman naunang nag-cheat. Gumanti lang ako,” she added, laughing.

Curtis, however, stressed that cheating “will never be right,” when asked if there is any valid reason to do it.

Given the hypothetical situation of getting romantic advances from actors Park Bo-gum or Zac Efron, two of her biggest celebrity crushes, a laughing Curtis said she would not be capable of cheating on her husband.

“Hindi ko kaya. No. Hindi na lang,” she said.

Gumabao was also made to answer similar questions, and readily admitted that he cheated on a former girlfriend whom he then addressed to say sorry.
