Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson reveal details of their past relationship

The former couple also admit what lessons they learned from their 4-year relationship.

On Gandang Gabi Vice, the lead stars of the teleserye Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin and one of the hottest love teams, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, talked about the positive changes they see in each other.

“Sobrang fit na niya. Sobrang sexy na,” Gerald described Kim.

“Sabi na ni mommy, dumami yung papandesal (abs). Hindi ko binilang, ba’t ko bibilangin – sinide glance ko lang ‘yun. Whoa abs! Ganoon lang. Hindi ko tinitigan kaya ‘di ko siya nabilang,” Kim said of Gerald.

Gerald’s abs were visible during a photoshoot they had for a magazine and Kim further shared, “May pa-push up, push up pa siya. Hindi na lang sa dressing room. Sa harap pa talaga naming lahat.”

Gerald then quipped, “Para makita niya (referring to Kim).”

The two first met each other in the Pinoy Big Brother house about a decade ago, where they also developed feelings for each other.

“Crush ko si Kim,” Gerald admitted. “Pero yung sa latter part na talaga kasi sa simula hindi mo makausap, nasa isang sulok, parang tahimik, tapos may pagka-boyish pa.”

It was the same for Kim, who fell for him because, “Kinikiliti niya ako lagi – joke lang! Kasi pareho kaming Bisaya’t cutie din naman siya. Lagi siyang nakikipag-usap sa akin hanggang sa, ‘ay oo! Cutie din naman ‘to.’ ”

Meanwhile, having been together for 4 years, Kim reminisced how Gerald was then.

“Don Romantico. Ganoon siya, ma-regalo. Galante siya.”

When Gerald said she was more generous, Kim admitted, “Hindi. Patas ang laban. Naglalabanan kasi kami ng regalo dati.”

Gerald then revealed, “Lahat ng binigay mo nasa akin pa!” to which Kim replied, “Lahat ng binigay mo wala na sa akin!”

While Gerald recalled gifting Kim a pink car and a cellphone, she confessed to having given him a Rolex, a 65-inch TV, a golf cart, a refrigerator, and a pair of branded shoes. Kim then joked, “Wala eh! Mahal dati! Actually, investment ko siya dati. Nalugi lang ako. (laugh)”

Gerald also admitted that even after they broke up, they continued communicating with each other. “Nag-uusap pa kami, nangangamusta. Hindi, magulo, ang hirap i-explain. Minsan may mga sitwasyon sa buhay natin na parang, ngayon pag tiningnan ko at iniisip ko yun, ang tanga ko din sobra ang tanga ko.

Ang gulo ko … At saka siguro sanay ka kasi na parang, siguro sa tagal din namin, pag may problema sa kanya din ako tumatakbo. Kaya noong kahit wala kami hinahanap mo pa rin yung feeling na ‘yun.”

On who was the first one to recover from the breakup, Kim said, “Lalaki. Kasi meron na eh!”

Vice Ganda then asked Gerald, “Ikaw Gerald, nawawala din ba ‘yun totally?” who answered, “Mahirap. Siyempre hindi, lalo na sa isang relasyong katulad namin. Ang tagal naming nagkasama tapos ang dami naming na-experience magkasama through showbiz and first time namin ito. Hindi naman mawawala agad ‘yun.”

On what he learned from their relationship, Gerald mused, “Maturity siguro pagdating sa isang relasyon; kung paano mas i-handle ng mas maayos, kung paano alagaan yung tao ng mas maganda, at kung paano mas respetuhin yung tao, i-value yung ginagawa niya para sa iyo.”

On the other hand, Kim shared, “Gumawa ka rin ng sariling mundo mo dapat, meroon kang sariling circle. Pag naglalaro siya ng basketball, punta ka sa mall. Mag-shopping ka, magpa-manicure at pedicure. After noon, text mo na lang ako! Ganoon. Tapos ‘wag masyadong clingy.”

Despite their failed relationship, the two are still thankful of each other. “Oo naman, sobra. Sabay kaming nag grow sa career namin dito sa showbiz. Nag grow kami in terms of yung paano kami magmahal ng isang tao. Ang dami niyang naituro sa akin na nagamit ko ngayon ng mas maayos and mas maganda.”

While for Gerald, “Mahirap ilagay sa words. Sabi ko nga, kung isang bahay ako, si Kim yung foundation ko. Kumbaga, hindi ko mabubuo yung bahay kung hindi dahil sa kanya.”
