KC Concepcion declares she ‘unfollowed but will never unlove’ Kiko, Frankie Pangilinan

KC ConcepcionKC Concepcion stressed that although she unfollowed her stepdad Kiko Pangilinan and her sister Frankie Pangilinan on Instagram, she still believes they have “enough love” to overcome this hurdle.

The “Asian Persuasion” star addressed the issue again in a statement she sent to “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” which the show host read in its Sept. 6 episode.

“I have learned my place in people’s lives and out of respect, I will not overplay my part. I am forever grateful to have experienced the love of a father through the experience of having a stepfather since I was 12 years old,” KC wrote, referring to the former senator.

“I’m sure hindi din po perfect ang journey niya but I know he’s trying his best,” she continued. “I would like to believe na naging mabuting anak din po ako. Ako po ay hindi perpekto pero nagmamahal po ako nang totoo.”

(I’m sure his journey is not perfect as well, but I know he’s trying his best. I would like to believe that I have been a good child. I am not perfect but my love is genuine.)

The actress then noted that while she understands their situation, she is in the season of her life where she prioritizes her happiness.

“I realize po na life is short, sayang po kung aksayahin natin (I realized that life is short and that it should not be wasted) [dealing] with negativity. I just want the family to be happy, and also myself to be happy,” she stated.

“Yes, I unfollowed on a social media platform—but I will not unfollow the lessons I have learned growing up into the woman I am today,” she added. “I unfollowed, but I will never unlove.”

KC concluded her message by expressing the hope that their family will all be at “a happy place one day.”

“Family is family… Naniniwala naman po ako na (I believe that) we have enough love to overcome this,” she said.

KC is the daughter of Kiko’s wife, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, with her former actor husband Gabby Concepcion. Speculations of KC’s tiff with Kiko and Frankie arose in August after eagle-eyed netizens noticed that the two are no longer on KC’s Instagram following listIn an interview with showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin, KC disclosed that she unfollowed them because she wanted “peace of mind.”
