MTRCB sent notice to It’s Showtime many times already

Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chair Lala Sotto revealed that Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime has several violations.

The noontime show led by Unkabogable Vice Ganda became a trending topic just recently because of the summon released by the MTRCB to make the producer explain the so-called “inappropriate gesture that the comedian-host and his partner Ion Perez during the Isip Bata segment.

This did not sit well with the fans of the ABS-CBN show. MTRCB was criticized for being unfairly strict because of the fact that Vice belongs to the LGBTQA+ community.

Fans of It’s Showtime also bashed Lala Sotto for calling out the Kapamilya show while ignoring her parents kissing on national TV during an episode of the TV5 noontime show EAT.

The MTRCB chair stressed that Tito Sotto and Helen Gamboa did not transgress any guidelines when it comes to television shows. She also pointed out that the Kapamilya noontime show Section 3 of Presidential Decree No.1986 in which it was stated that shows should follow the “general viewing” guideline.

In an interview on veteran showbiz writer-reporter Cristy Fermin’s Cristy FerMinute show, based on the article in Abante, Lala Sotto revealed that this is not the first time that Vice’s noontime show received a notice.

“Kung alam n’yo lang, ilang notices na ang pinadala namin sa kanila. Nakailang warning na rin sila dahil puro sila may violations sa lengguwahe, paulit-ulit po iyon,” the MTRCB Chair revealed.

Meanwhile, amid the issue between It’s Showtime and MTRCB, Vice Ganda shared a photo showing that he and his partner Ion Perez are taking a vacation.

As of the writing, the Kapamilya noontime show has not released yet a statement about this matter.
