Elijah Canlas has two primetime series

Kapamilya actor Elijah Canlas shared that he had initial worries in doing High Street, the sequel to Senior High, and this is because of Batang Quiapo lead star Coco Martin.

Elijah plays the villainous Pablo Caballero in Batang Quiapo. He is also one of the lead stars in High Street. Both teleseryes are part of ABS-CBN’s primetime shows.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Elijah said that he is very grateful to Coco for allowing him to still do the sequel to Senior High even though he is also portraying a big role in Batang Quiapo.

Elijah Canlas shared that he is doing his best and Coco Martin asked him if he can do both shows. Then, Elijah admitted that he had initial worries that the primetime action star would get disappointed that he accepted a new project while still working in Batang Quiapo.

“Nag-invest na kasi sila ng time. We’ve been doing workshops and stunt training. Ang worry ko is baka hindi magustuhan ni Direk Coco na may ginagawang show at the same time. Baka isipin na hindi ako nagfofocus, but si Kuya Coco ang nag-push sa’kin na gawin ko ‘to,” Elijah shared.

In a separate interview, Coco expressed support for Elijah. Coco said that he is in favor of practicality and this is the reason why they are working hard. “Binibigyan ko lahat ng opportunity para lumipad at magkaroon ng career, at makapag-hanapbuhay lahat ng tao,” he said.

Aside from being the lead actor in the series based on FPJ’s movie, Coco is also a co-director, creative director, and producer.

Meanwhile, aside from the blooming acting career of Elijah Canlas, his love life is apparently doing great as well. It can be recalled that he and actress Miles Ocampo started bonding again months after their breakup. The actor was spotted at the actress’s birthday celebration and their sweet photos surfaced online.
