Julia Montes worked with Arjo Atayde in this MMFF movie

Kapamilya actress Julia Montes shared that her longtime partner Coco Martin helped her with her stunts in the movie Topakk.

Julia has showcased her ability in the action genre. This was not the first time she did action scenes but in this movie, she was challenged to do intense action scenes along sige with actor-politician Arjo Atayde.

In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Julia shared that Coco was instrumental in how she performed in her action scenes.

The actress shared that it was the Batang Quiapo lead star and director who gave her safety tips for her stunts.

“Proud siya. Kasi siya rin naman ‘yung unang nagturo sa akin kung paano hindi naman gumalaw, kung paano ‘yung safety. Proud siya, hindi naman mawawala ‘yun. ‘Yung mga safety tips, nagamit naman namin,” Julia Montes said about Coco Martin.

The actress also said that what made her more excited was the advocacy of the movie. She shared that they did not mind the hard work, struggles, challenges, and pain that they had while doing the film because they wanted to share a beautiful and inspiring story.

Julia also commended her leading man in this movie. She said that it was great working with Arjo. “Ang sarap katrabaho ni Arjo, kasi titingin ka lang, sasabay ka na eh. Doon ko sinasabi na masarap gawin ‘yung eksena kung ganito kagaling ‘yung katrabaho mo,” the actress said.

Topakk is part of the 50th anniversary of MMFF but it premiered at the Locamo Film Festival recently. It is produced by Nathan Studios, Fusee, and Strawdogs.

The movie tackles the sensitive topic about the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that former special forces operative are experiencing. It is directed by Richard V. Somes.
