Sharon Cuneta believes the industry has been crippled by the loss of veteran actress Gloria Romero.
The Queen of Philippine Cinema passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 91.

According to the Megastar, he witnessed the late actress’ kindness not only to him but to all the people she spent time with and worked with.
Sharon was interviewed by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on the second night of Gloria’s funeral at the Arlington Memorial Chapels on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City, last night, January 27.
He stated: “Every time someone in the industry loses a colleague, it’s very painful, especially when it’s a queen, especially when you’ve been in a movie together.
“You learned a lot from him, and he was very good to you and everyone he met.
“Of course, royalty, we have really lost a pillar in the industry.
“It’s a very sad day, every day, since we lost her. It’s been very sad,” pahayag ni Sharon.
Sharon was shocked by Gloria’s passing because she remembered a strong and cheerful Gloria the last time they met.
“I only found out yesterday [January 26] kasi I don’t really watch mga local news.
“I was surprised because, I mean, the last time I saw her was when she was so healthy, so happy,” said the actress-singer.

The Megastar also shared his fondest memories with the late actress.
“We shot on Oras Oras, Araw-Araw , and then guested on Palibhasa Lalake .”
In Oras-Oras, Araw-Araw (1989), Gloria played Sharon’s mother. But the twist in the story is that the Megastar’s mother is different.
In Palibhasa Lalake , Gloria played the role of “Inay Minerva.” Her children in the sitcom are Cynthia Patag and Amy Perez, while Richard Gomez, Joey Marquez, and others are boarders.
Sharon has other connections to Gloria.
“Then his daughter, Maritess, his daughter has been my schoolmate since grade school in St. Paul.
“Then again, it’s Tita Gloria’s birthday with Kakie. I know all that, it just seems strange.”
The “Kaki” Sharon is referring to is her son Frankie Pangilinan.
