Curious about Heart Evangelista’s daily allowance when she was still a student?

In a TikTok video on Nov. 8, the local star took the time to respond to a follower who asked her about her daily baon when she was in school.

The 38-year-old said that when she was studying in San Francisco, California, she would have lunch cards, a cashless form of transaction on campus, every Friday “because it’s Pizza Day.”

But from Monday to Thursday, Evangelista said she’d just have a sandwich in her house.

According to a report, her family moved to San Francisco during her early adolescent years, studying at Aubudon School.

When she returned to the Philippines, she said she had a P300 allowance, noting food in her school was expensive.

“I don’t know now how it is in San Agustin,” she said, “but I used to love the chicken with fries and… I forgot, but it’s like beef steak.”

Evangelista was referring to Colegio San Agustin in Makati. There, she reportedly finished up to her second year in high school, as she already started her showbiz career.

Evangelista, however, gave the lowdown: Her baon gets depleted not because of the supposed expensive food, but because she frequents bookstores.

“Bili ako nang bili ng mga sketchpad, mga stationery, mga ballpen na mababango din eraser, mga ganyan,” she said. “Doon lagi nauubos ‘yang pera ko sa school.”

“Ang ending, lagi na lang ako nililibre ng kaklase ko,” she said.

Evangelista starred in shows like G-mik, Trip, Ang Tanging Ina, Hiram, and Panday. She eventually became a painter with sold-out solo exhibitions and a fashion influencer attending international events.

She also took her stab at writing books and singing.
