MANILA — For Kris Aquino, “Hello, Love, Goodbye” is one of the best Star Cinema movies she has ever watched.
With swollen eyes from crying and emotion in her voice, Aquino was all praises for the movie starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards.
“Obviously, I love the movie. Obviously, magang-maga ang mata,” she said in a vlog uploaded on her Facebook page on Friday.
“That’s the proof of how much I cried,” Aquino added, showing a big ball of used tissue paper. “Naubos halos lahat [ng tissue].”
The actress-host went on to share “a few things that struck me” in “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
“Bimb (her youngest son Bimby Yap) and I were in unison doon sa line na, ‘I don’t plan to be your future, but I can be your now,” she said. “True, I really reacted to that. I just could not stop crying.”
“From someone who saw Kath when she was still a teenager, this is excellent work. One of her best if not her best ever, one of the best movies I’ve seen in so long. And si Alden was so perfect with Kath. It was such a perfect team-up,” she added.
“This is definitely more than five [stars] for me. One of, sincerely from my heart, isa sa pinakamagandang pelikula ng Star Cinema na napanood ko in all these years, even from the time I was in ABS-CBN.”
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and written by Carmi Raymundo, “Hello, Love, Goodbye” follows the story of Joy (Bernardo), a domestic helper, and Ethan (Richards), a bartender, as they grapple with challenges faced by OFWs in Hong Kong.
It has already earned more than half a billion pesos less than two weeks since it opened last July 31.
Aquino said the success of the movie is well-deserved, with the actress-host believing it is “on track to make a billion.”
