Eula Valdes on ghost sightings: “I just got used to it.”
Eula Valdes recalls when she started seeing ghosts.
Lilim actress Eula Valdes shared that in real life she has experienced paranormal encounters.
“Quite a few,” Eula admitted with a laugh in a recent interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
“When I was little, I was playing on the long table in our house in Nueva Ecija, just me.
“Then there were curtains but they were towels, then one time I saw floating legs!
“But this is what’s funny, because instead of, if this is the long table, here is the pair of legs I saw, this is where I’m going,” Eula said, gesturing to where the floating legs were.
The actress continued, “I was screaming but I was going to her. Then I said, that’s my grandmother.
“And then my siblings asked me, ‘What are you wearing?’ I said, ‘Saya and gray brownish,’ something like that.
“And it turned out that’s what she was wearing when she died.
EULA VALDEZ ON SEEING DEAD PEOPLE
It’s not just deceased relatives that Eula sees.
“Okay, there’s more. I also don’t like going to the dead because there’s often a ‘follower,’” Eula laughed again.
The actress even shared a story about having what’s called a “third eye” or sensitivity to paranormal phenomena.
“I have two maids, they come to me, I’m having dinner, and then they laugh. I said, ‘Who’s the one in the middle? Who is the man in the middle of you?’
“Then they looked at each other, ‘Ma’am, you are really scary, huh!’
“Then what happened, that’s why I see it, our neighbor renovated his house and someone died but they didn’t tell.
“They were silent, they didn’t tell or inform many people that someone died, so that’s what I saw.”
Apart from the spirits, Eula also saw “supernatural beings.”
She said: “During the taping, in Antipolo, I saw some people in the trees, black, and their eyes, glowing!” But that’s right, you should talk to them, find out why, or what you’re doing, and tell them that you’re not… you’re not there to cause trouble.
“And they too, they seemed curious about what was going on. Because during that taping, it was like they were just hanging from a tree and watching.
“So, I just tell people not to spread out because of course they don’t want that, that they’re being disturbed too.”
Even in simple everyday activities, Eula feels and sees something.
“While eating,” and Eula laughed again.
“There’s like… a kid, his shirt is striped and then I’m in the capital, sitting down eating.
“Then this, the one that goes to the second floor, that’s the staircase, a kid will peek in and when I look, he’ll hide.
“Then he’ll look like that again, then he’ll hide, he’ll hide from me.”
Eula has many more strange stories, and it doesn’t seem to have any effect on her anymore.
The actress explained: “I’m just used to it.
“Sometimes when you’re brushing your teeth, you know what you’re feeling is behind you and you just say, ‘Hmmm… I’m getting sleepy, I don’t want to be scared, okay?’
“Right? Those things. Just be dead, and that’s it, you’ll talk to me.”
EULA VALDEZ’S MOVIES UNDER VIVA FILMS
On the other hand, Eula was also asked if Viva Artists Agency will manage her showbiz career again.
Eula is one of the original Viva artists who started with the film Bagets in 1984.
And now, Eula has a project almost every year with Viva: Martyr or Murderer (2023), Nokturno (2024), and her latest horror film Lilim (2025).
She said, “No, I am not managed or will be managed by Viva, but they’re helping me.
“And I’m grateful and happy that from where I started until now I can still work for them.”
Eula further emphasized her gratitude to Viva.
She continued, “I am not managed by Viva but I am thankful.
“I have done many things in Viva that are beautiful and memorable, and this is another one, Lilim is also memorable.
“After all these years, I am still able to do things and Viva is still hiring me.
“I am very thankful for Viva.”
