MANILA — All eyes are on unkabogable box office superstar Vice Ganda as she returns to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) with “And The Breadwinner Is.”
Since the trailer’s debut, it has received a flood of comments and reactions, with netizens expressing their excitement to watch Vice’s MMFF movie.
“Good thing Vice Ganda is stepping away from her usual comedy entries,” another Facebook user Ramon Lauron Orcullo said.
During the MMFF event, where the other five films were unveiled, Vice admitted that working with director Jun Lana and Idea First was outside of his comfort zone, but it provided him with a new experience.
At mukha namang naitawid ko,” he said.
The comedy superstar also shared, acknowledging the team, “Sinasabi ko nga, at pinagmamalaki ko sa ABS-CBN, na ito ang pelikula ko na pinaka-mapayapa mula simula hanggang dulo.”
“Walang nag-aaway, walang nagagalit, walang nagmumura, walang sumisigaw, walang nagbabato ng upuan. Masaya lang lagi,” he added.
He then praised the production team, saying, “Sobrang galing ng grupo nila. Sobrang professional. Sobrang loving. Sobrang supportive. That’s what I felt, I was given so much love and support. And I needed that, at that time. Kasi siyempre, bago ito, eh. Bagong dama, bagong gawa. Parang it’s familiar, but it’s different.”
The A-list artist has promised to boost his efforts to promote his MMFF entry while still enjoying the festival.
He told the media, “Kasi parang obligasyon ko ‘yun para sa sarili ko, para sa pelikula ko, at para sa Metro Manila Film Festival.
Vice revealed that during past festival runs, he had his own promotional efforts.
Produced by Star Cinema, ABS-CBN Studios, and Idea First, “And The Breadwinner Is” also stars Eugene Domingo, Gladys Reyes, Jhong Hilario, Maris Racal, and Anthony Jennings.
