Zinedine Zidane has been linked with replacing Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
Zinedine Zidane ‘would have two demands’ to take the Manchester United job amid pressure mounting on Erik ten Hag.
That’s according to Emmanuel Petit, who has shared his thoughts on his former teammate potentially replacing Ten Hag at Man United, with a ‘deadline’ given to save his position.
Zidane’s name remains strongly associated with the managerial gig at Old Trafford, having been linked with the position during the summer.
Petit believes Zidane ‘would have two demands’ to replace Ten Hag at Man United.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder suggests that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will need to provide assurances regarding transfers and job security to entice the Real Madrid legend to take the role.
“I’m not sure that he speaks very good English as well. And communication is very important in the dressing room,” he revealed.
“Honestly, I know a little bit, Zizou [Zidane], and he needs to get guarantees if he wants to sign over there in Manchester United.
“At the moment, the environment at Manchester United for years has not been good. The stability of the bench, the level of the players as well, the expectation of the club is not the same that it used to be.”
Petit added: “United is still a huge club, but not on the pitch anymore.
“And Zizou is very conscious and very careful about that, the quality of the players. At the moment, when you look at the team, I’m not convinced at all about the level of some players. If he takes the job at Manchester United, that means he’s got solutions.”

Zidane has been out of work since his departure from Real in 2021, where he guided them to three Champions League triumphs.
He’s reportedly in the mix to replace Ten Hag if Man United end up relieving him of his duties.
The Dutchman’s future has been clouded by uncertainty following a shaky start to the new season.
He’s already led the Red Devils to three league defeats as the club languish in 14th place in the Premier League table.
