‘Still the same us’: Maja Salvador, Kim Chiu restore friendship
MANILA — Six years since their controversial falling out, Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador appear to have restored their friendship, going by their sentimental posts on Instagram showing them together in New York.
Known best friends when they co-starred in the 2013 primetime series “Ina, Kapatid, Anak,” the two women’s relationship was strained when Salvador became romantically involved with Gerald Anderson, Chiu’s former boyfriend until 2010.
Salvador and Anderson eventually broke up in 2015.
While Salvador and Chiu were reported to have reconciled a year prior, they said, in subsequent interviews, that it would take time to fully heal and bring back the bond they used to have.
“Endless reminiscing with this one,” Chiu wrote on Instagram on Monday, in the caption of photos of her with Salvador at Times Square in New York City.
“Remembering our kalokohan before… Laugh here and there, stories this and that. From wedge, heels to white sneakers now! Some things never change! Still the same us!” she said.
Salvador posted a similar set of photos, referring to Chiu with her term of endearment for her onscreen sister, Kimney.
Both are known to be in respective relationships. Salvador recently went public with her romance with businessman Rambo Nunez, while Chiu is with Xian Lim, who was also part of “Ina, Kapatid, Anak.”
Chiu and Salvador are in the United States for a series of shows for Filipinos based there, including the Kapamilya Fiesta World in New Jersey.
