Check out Fyang Smith’s tattoos and the stories they tell

Tattoos are the ultimate aesthetic in this new generation. They’re personal stories, memories, and, let’s be real, art pieces that make a statement. Just look at Fyang Smith, our favorite ‘eabab,’ who has a slight obsession with body art. Some of her tattoos carry deep meanings, while others she simply thought were cute.

One of her more subtle and modern tattoos is on the side of her wrist—a lily, her birth flower. Interestingly, it’s done with UV ink, which makes it practically invisible unless seen under the right light. Now that’s lit!

Moving up her arm, she’s got a series of dainty flowers, butterflies, and a moon dedicated to her late grandmother. Ever heard of the Filipino belief that loved ones can reincarnate as butterflies? That’s the inspo behind this. Meanwhile, the moon makes it more sentimental since it was her shared favorite with her lola.

On her other arm is a bold red band, a cover-up with a personal story she prefers to keep a mystery. Right next to it is a heart tattoo, also a cover-up, and yup, she’s also not spilling why she got it

Above this band, Fyang has three dates in numerical form—the birthdays of her mom, sibling, and her “favorite person.” There’s also a minimalist green four-leaf clover above her left elbow, inspired by her mom’s love for clovers, a cute little way to symbolize luck as well.

Then, on the side of her nape, one of her OG tattoos, is a simple but classy long feather.

And on her back, just below her nape, she’s got a cute butterfly with flowers. “Walang meaning ‘yan. Maganda lang siya,” she laughs. Sometimes, you just get inked because it looks good! Nearby is a mini fairy tattoo that she jokes “mukhang lamok,” a matching piece with her cousin.

Fyang is not all about the minimalist pieces either. Her biggest tattoo spans her lower back, but she’s keeping that one off-cam.

Getting inked is like immortalizing our stories in a whole ‘new gen’ way! Each tattoo can mean something, or nothing at all. Just take it from Fyang!
