It seems that Rayver Cruz has gained the vote of approval from no less than Janine Gutierrez’s mother Lotlot de Leon.

The seasoned star said she is happy about how Rayver is like towards her daughter.

“Mabait si Rayver. I’ve known him since he was fourteen [years old]. Matagal ko nang kakilala ang batang ‘yan, and I’ve worked with him already,” Lotlot said in an interview with PEP.

The fact that Lotlot and Rayver previously worked together on the 2004 fantasy soap Spirits has allowed the former to get to know the latter.

But does this mean that she approves of the hunky Kapamilya star?

“Actually, natuwa ako, kasi kilala ko nga siya eh. And I know he’s sincere. Sincere siya kung anuman ang pakay niya. Hindi naman para bilugin pa ang ulo ko o ano. Hindi ganun eh,” she said.

She even joked, “Sana sagutin na siya ni Janine!”

Despite her approval, at the end of the day, Lotlot reiterated that the decision still rests with her daughter.

“I mean, if that’s what Janine wants also. Siyempre, susuportahan ko ang anak ko. Diskarte na niya [Rayver] yun eh. Kumbaga, ako, dito lang,” she said.

If anything though, Lotlot revealed that Janine is well aware about what she thinks of the actor-dancer.

“Pero alam ni Janine na gusto ko si Rayver for her. Alam niya na approve ako for her. But of course, in the end, that’s her decision,” she said.

Rayver shared last June that he was already courting the young actress after being spotted hanging out with their other friends on several occasions.
