Marian Rivera and Karylle finally met

Kapamilya singer and Showtime host Karylle recently crossed paths with Kapuso actress Marian Rivera, whose husband, film star Dingdong Dantes, was formerly in a relationship with the “It’s Showtime” mainstay.

The chance meeting was revealed by Vice Ganda, Karylle’s “It’s Showtime” co-host, during the noontime program’s live episode Monday.

The topic was talked about during the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of the show, wherein a contestant shared that he recently learned of the wedding of his ex-girlfriend.

Co-host Jhong Hilario asked Vice Ganda how he would feel if he were in a similar situation. The comedian initially tried to gather words to answer, but ended up diverting the issue towards Karylle, who was sitting as a judge on the singing competition.

“Tanungin natin si Karylle kasi nagkita sila ni Dingdong noong isang araw, eh!” Vice Ganda said. “Nakasalubong niya sa isang show. Sabi niya, nakasalubong niya si Marian.”

[Let’s ask Karylle because she and Dingdong saw each other. They bumped into each other. She saw Marian.]

Vice Ganda went on to share details about the meeting, as supposedly told to him by Karylle in a personal conversation. Karylle did not appear to contradict the comedian’s revelations.

Referring to Karylle, Vice Ganda narrated: “Gandang-ganda daw siya kay Marian. Bineso niya raw. Pag-beso niya, ‘Uy, ang ganda naman.’

[She found Marian very pretty. They kissed cheek to cheek. When they did, Karylle even said “You’re so pretty.]

“Tapos pag talikod niya, na-realize niya na ang payapa na pala talaga ng puso nila, kasi nag-beso sila, tapos gandang-ganda raw siya kay Marian.

[And when they turned they backs, she realized that they are already at peace with it because they got to kiss. She even found Marian very beautiful.]

Karylle then clarified, when teased by Vice Ganda, that she only said “hi” to Dantes, with whom Rivera now has a two-year-old daughter named Zia.

Karylle and Dantes broke up in 2008. At the time, Dantes had just finished work on the teleserye “Marimar”, where he was paired with Rivera.

The timing triggered speculation that an affair between Rivera and Dantes caused the breakup, but this was denied by both.

Marian and Dingdong got married in December 2014, nine months after Karylle’s wedding with rock star Yael Yuzon.}
