Veteran host and actress Amy Perez turned a year older on Thursday, September 5. She is 55 years old and she marked her 55th year in the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.

As much as we all know, getting old is a normal part of life. Those years are a mix of feelings and experiences that gave you more wisdom and perspective. As Tyang Amy became a year older, one of the people who gave her a heartfelt message that moved many people is Karylle.

During the noontime show, Karylle became emotional. She is Amy’s niece as her father and Karylle’s grandmother are siblings.

In Karylle message, she recounted the moments how Tyang Amy helped her and the others in so many ways. She recently went through a tough time as her father passed away and she has nothing but pure appreciation as Perez has been there completely for her.

Tyang Amy was her source of strength and when she received the bad news in Showtime, she knew exactly who to share it with.

“You really have given us so much love in your very small but many ways. Bawat araw ang dami mong ginagawa para sa amin. Kung mayroong maliit na problema, alam nating may kakatok sa dressing room natin dahil ikaw ang talagang takbuhan namin sa bawat problema,” Karylle added.

Towards the end of her message, she expressed that she survived this month largely because of Tyang Amy who has always been there for her. Last month, Karylle’s father, Modesto Tatlonghari, passed away.

Meanwhile, as she became older, Tyang Amy recounted how the ups and downs of her past years has shaped her and her life now. If there’s one thing she’s most grateful for, it is the 55 years of goodness of the Lord to her.
