Kim Chiu Admits She Watched Paulo Avelino During His StarStruck Days

Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu admitted that she watched actor Paulo Avelino when he joined the Kapuso talent search StarStruck.

Kim and Paulo are collectively known as KimPau and their loveteam is gaining so much attention. Fans have been gushing their sweet moments on camera but in a recent interview, the actress shared her “kilig” moments behind the scenes with her loveteam partner.

In a recent press conference for their first movie together My Love Will Make You Disappear, based on the article in Bandera, Kim and Paulo were asked if they thought that they would have the chance to be close to each other.

Kim Chiu shared that she did not even expect that she would have the opportunity to work with Paulo Avelino in her 18 years in the entertainment industry.

“Kelan ba tayo nagka-[trabaho]? Pang 16th year sa pagiging artista. ‘Di ba sabay tayong nagsimula (asking Paulo) mas matanda ka lang sa akin,” the actress said.

The actor jokingly answered, “High school palang pinapanood na kita sa (Pinoy Big Brother).” Kim started her showbiz career after winning the first PBB Teen Edition. With what her loveteam partner said, Kim replied, “Uy hindi ha, pinapanood kita sa Starstruck (2006-2007) sumasayaw ka pa nga.”

Paulo, with a smile, asked Kim if she really watched him back then. Then, the actress said that she even voted for Paulo. Votes from fans were part of the factors in choosing a winner in the talent search.

Because of what Kim said, everyone at the press conference laughed with her. Then, Paulo just said, “Nawala ako” apparently saying that he had nothing else to say and Kim followed this with a funny statement connected to their movie. “Nawala rin ako, ha, ha, ha mag-disappear na tayo,” the Kapamilya actress said.

When asked about their closeness, Paulo Avelino said that he can say that he and Kim Chiu are close now after working together on several projects. Just like the actress, the actor did not also expect that there would come a time when they would share the same frame.

“But I wanted to work with her pero hindi ko ini-expect kasi parang after a while nag-iba na rin ang tahak at marami akong gustong gawin at hindi ko alam na kay Kim pala ang bagsak ko,” Paulo said.
