The Wednesday group—Vhong Navarro, Ion Perez, Darren Espanto, and Amy Perez—delivered an impressive and spine-chilling performance, with an eerie concept tackling themes of death and life, with Vhong dramatically appearing as the Grim Reaper to set the tone. And then, the team showcased a heart-racing mix of solo acts, all tied together in a plot filled with unexpected twists, sealed with just the right touch of heart-wrenching drama that moved the audience.

Team VIDA’s Magpasikat 2024 entry was not only a visual spectacle but also an emotional rollercoaster, stirring a mix of fear, shock, and heartfelt emotions among the audience. Even the other hosts were on the edge of their seats, overwhelmed by the sheer intensity and creativity of the act!

While watching Ion’s ‘no harness’ exhibition, the hosts were left breathless as he executed buwis-buhay stunts on a metal frame attached to the ceiling. Vice Ganda remained silent, her eyes hinting worry and fear for her beloved partner; while Anne Curtis clutched Vice’s arm, visibly anxious about Ion’s safety as well. Karylle clasped her hands together, as if praying that Ion would safely pull off his act.

And when he finally completed his routine without a hitch, a collective cheer erupted from the audience, including a shout of pride from Vice.

Kim Chiu was ecstatic as she witnessed the spectacular ‘cyr wheel’ act by her ‘bestie’ Darren, who received deafening cheers from his whole ‘Showtime’ family for his flawless execution perfectly synchronized with the music. He even got a standing ovation from Anne!

The excitement reached a fever pitch during the performance’s climax, featuring Ion, Amy, and Darren theatrically running on a treadmill laid out in the middle of the studio. The hosts were bursting with excitement, clapping and shouting as the ‘story’ unfolded.

However, the mood shifted dramatically over the act’s heart-wrenching finale plot twist. Everyone were in tears, with Jackie Gonzaga and MC Muah visibly moved as they watched the moment when Ion’s character was revealed to be the one who died, and his family, Darren and Amy, grieved his loss while Vhong, as the lord of darkness, came to take him away.

And just when everyone thought the emotional rollercoaster was over, Darren’s powerful high note at the end had everyone stunned. Tearful while singing, Darren brought down the house with an explosive reaction from his co-hosts, who were all blown away by his heartfelt and superb delivery.

While we still have a serious hangover from Day 3 of Magpasikat 2024, we can’t help but look forward to what Thursday has in store, with Anne, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz taking the stage.
