Gladys Reyes Reveals Why She Doesn’t Want To Do Mistress Roles

Seasoned actress Gladys Reyes revealed the reason why she is not accepting mistress roles.

Gladys started her acting career in the Philippine entertainment industry at a young age. She was part of the hit 90s series Mara Clara with soap opera queen Judy Ann Santos.

Over the years, she was known as one of the “prima kontrabidas” for portraying antagonist roles superbly. As she continued her acting career, Gladys showed her versatility and always received praise for every role that she was portraying.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Gladys Reyes shared that she has an upcoming Kapuso series with singer-actress Vina Morales titled Cruz vs. Cruz.

“First time ko naman to work with Vina Morales sa isang serye. So, abangan niyo dahil teleserye ito, kaabang-abang ang mga, kumbaga, intense na eksena with Ate Vina,” Gladys shared.

When asked what would be her role in the series, Gladys refused to say the details and that the viewers should anticipate if she will slap Vina’s character or if she will be the one who will be slapped.

“Isa pa yun sa excited ako, kasi I think isa ito sa magiging memorable talaga sa akin, kasi imagine title role kami ni Ate Vina. So, Cruz vs. Cruz, di ba?” she shared.

Then, she gave a hint. Gladys said that Vina’s character is the common-law life while her character is the legal wife. So, this meant that she was not the mistress in the series. With this, Gladys shared that she avoids mistress roles.

“Hindi! Ako pa ba papayag na syobit, hindi! Tsaka ano, eh, minsan kasi parang iniiwasan ko rin, kasi ang mga anak ko nakakapanood din,” the actress said.

Gladys Reyes also shared her thoughts on the reality when it comes to this matter. For her, those who are in a relationship are already off-limits and there are a lot of single people. She is happily married to her husband Christopher Roxas for 32 years now.
