Charo Santos shared on his Instagram on Monday, November 4, the experience of temporarily losing his voice, which is why he had to pause the taping of his project, *Batang Quiapo*. According to Santos, his doctor instructed him not to speak, as well as to refrain from anything related to speaking in order to recover and rest his throat.

In the video made public by Charo, he recounted how he woke up one morning without his voice.

“One morning I just woke up, I had no voice. Then I thought, maybe because of my back-to-back taping schedules of ‘Batang Quiapo’ and my military training, my immune system has collapsed,” Charo said . .

According to him, it seems that dual duties—being busy with his tapings and the simultaneous military training he started in October—caused an unexpected impact on his health.

Charo Santos is known for being an actress and a *media icon*, and recently, she entered the world of being a Philippine Air Force (PAF) reservist.

Military training was a serious step for him, so he didn’t expect it to cause stress on his health. At the height of his training, he even reached the point where he had to use a whiteboard and pen to communicate with instructors and military officials.

According to him, this was his way to continue his activities despite his condition.

“I was really hard during my FTX (Field Training Exercises),” Charo added. Santos admitted that it was difficult for him to follow the doctor’s instructions, especially since he is used to being lively and happy to talk and socialize with other people. However, he expressed to fans and supporters that he is very grateful to have had the opportunity to continue and be able to tap and finish training.

*Field Training Exercises* or FTX, is a part of the training of reservists that includes physical and mental exercises that are close to actual situations on the battlefield. These exercises are found in military camps, and military reservists experience them to prepare for emergency responses and operations. Charo’s training, as a new reservist, was a big challenge for her as an actress and as a person of age. However, Charo boasted that he completed the training and graduated as a full-fledged PAF reservist.

Despite the trials he went through, Charo continued to persevere and was proud to be a reservist of the Philippine Air Force. According to him, joining the PAF was a big step in his life, and he found here a new mission and purpose in his life, apart from his career in the showbiz industry.
