Drama queen Judy Ann Santos was asked if she is pressured to surpass the movie earnings of Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo.

Juday and Kath had the chance to work together in the series Krystala. The older actress was the lead star of the said superhero series while the younger actress played the character of Bulinggit.

Aside from this, another connection between them also was that they both played Mara in the series Mara Clara. This series which aired from 1992 to 1997 was Juday’s big break and it has been part of the Philippine pop culture.

In 2010, ABS-CBN decided to do a remake and it featured Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes.

In a recent interview for the movie Espantaho, Judy Ann Santos was asked if she is pressured to have higher movie earnings than what the Asia’s Superstar had. Kathryn’s movie Hello, Love, Again with Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards is currently the top-grossing Pinoy film.

“Si Bulinggit namin ‘yan ni Ryan sa ‘Krystala’ so alam ko kung gaano kalayo ang pinagtrabahuhan nitong batang ito. So to get pressured sa kinita ng pelikula nila, hindi siya dapat kailangang isipin or i-consider pa sa kung nasaan kami,” she said, adding that that Kathryn’s movie is very different and this was unfolded as how her life was laid out.

She also acknowledged that moviegoers have different perspectives now and they are hoping that they could only reach at least half. “I mean gusto ko lang naman talaga na mapanood ng maraming tao itong pelikula na ito because tinarabaho namin ito ng bonggang-bongga,” Juday said.

Judy Ann Santos also expressed excitement about the possibility of working on a project with Kathryn Bernardo. It is because she knows that people are thinking out of the box now and she is excited about how the project would be laid out for them. She added that she is just waiting for the perfect material for her and Kathryn.
