Kapamilya actor-host Vhong Navarro faced a rough time in 2022 and during this phase, this is how it affected his son’s showbiz dream.

In 2022, when the tables turned regarding the cases of actor-host Vhong Navarro, he urrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). He did this voluntarily after a Taguig court ordered the arrest of him.

He surrendered but the fight continued.

In November 2022, Navarro was transferred to the Taguig City jail. Before this, he was held at the NBI detention facility. After spending sometime in a facility and jail, he was released and granted by the court to post bail despite the charges against him was not bailable. He paid Php 1 million in exchange for his freedom.

During this difficult and dark time in their family’s life, how was his sons affected by this?

In a recent interview, his son Yce Navarro who is now a part of a Kapamilya series spoke about this. According to him, he has always wanted to join the industry but all he got were rejections.

He got rejected several times and it made him want to give up. When his father got detained, the hope left in him ultimately got drained. He suffered from depression because apart from his father’s unfortunate fate at that time, other heartbreaking events happened in their family all at the same time.

Yce underwent therapy but he mostly got his strength from God and his mother. He said this about his mother, “So, parang nung nag-i-stay strong siya para sa amin, para sa mga anak niya, para sa ibang mga kapatid ko, parang doon ko na rin po nakuha yung lakas ng loob ko.”

He was already at the point of giving up his showbiz dream but everything changed when he received a call from Coco Martin, director and lead actor of Batang Quiapo.
