It was a victory filled with thrill  and plenty of unforgettable moments for Team Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, MC, and Lassy as they clinched the title of Magpasikat 2024 Grand Champion! Right after their victory, ent.abs-cbn.com caught up with the group to hear firsthand about their winning journey and what it meant to bring home the top prize in this special celebration of the “It’s Showtime” 15th anniversary.

This marked a three-peat championship for Kim, who was overjoyed and admittedly surprised by the win. “Hindi kami nag-expect!” she shared with excitement. For Ogie, Kim, MC, and Lassy, their goal wasn’t about the outcome but about pouring their hearts into their performance. They agreed they’d be happy regardless of the result as long as they gave it their all.

The quartet holds nothing but appreciation for one another, as each member pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones. MC and Lassy, known for their comedy, stepped up with an intense aerial dance performance, while Ogie conquered his fear of heights, playing the piano on a revolving platform in his solo exhibition.

Ogie, ever humble, also downplays his role when praised for composing an original song just for their number, choosing instead to highlight the dedication of his teammates and the creatives who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. More than the title, they’re grateful that the audience connected with the message of their “tigil-hinga-kalma” concept—a reminder to pause and breathe amid life’s challenges

But above all, they dedicate this victory to God, who they believe guided them and kept them safe through their dangerous stunts. Kim shared that their team took on the most daring routines but had the least time to rehearse in the studio, making it feel like the Heavens and the universe truly came together to support them.

At the end of the day, they embraced the pressure with joy. Yes, they faced the intensity of competition and a few small misunderstandings along the way, which are inevitable, but they kept each other laughing.  That’s how they brought out the best in one another as a team.

When asked who their group’s lucky charm was, Ogie, MC, and Lassy all answered in unison: “Si Kim.” To recall, it’s become a running joke in the “It’s Showtime” family that Kim might just come out on top again, as she’s been on such a lucky streak this year with one win after another!

As part of Magpasikat tradition, the winning teams share their prize with a chosen organization. Team OKML selected the Angat Buhay Foundation, a timely choice given the institution’s ongoing efforts to provide relief and assistance to victims of Typhoon Kristine.
