Veteran actor Ian Veneracion has shared his perspective on the controversy involving Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, and Jam Villanueva, urging the public to respect their privacy.

In an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Marfori, Ian highlighted the need for empathy amid the storm of online speculation.

“It’s a private thing between two people. Just let them be,” Ian stated firmly.

Reflecting on the pressures that come with public life, Ian noted the inevitable scrutiny that celebrities face.

“With fame comes the possibility of shame. That’s two shades of the same thing, and it’s just part of it,” he explained. “Regardless of how viral or whatever the celebrity status is, we are all human beings… Kami-kami lang naman ang nagsu-support from each other –even emotionally.”

Ian also called on people to move on from the issue, saying, “Just chill. Ikaw ba, naalala mo kung sino nag-viral three weeks ago? Tsaka it’s just part of it. Hindi ko lang maintindihan why everybody makes it their business. I mean, it’s a private thing between two people. Just let them be.”

On December 6, Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings publicly addressed the cheating allegations surrounding them. Maris clarified her side, stating that she wasn’t aware Anthony was still involved with his ex-girlfriend, Jam Villanueva.

“He would say things na ako ang gusto niya and all. Kaya I asked him so many times,” Maris revealed, explaining that she only acted based on the information she had.

Anthony, on the other hand, took responsibility for his actions and issued a public apology.

“Sa lahat ho ng mga nangyari noong nakaraan araw, sa lahat po ng taong nasaktan ko, especially po si Maris tsaka si Jam,” Anthony said in his statement. “Humihingi po ako ng tawad sa dalawang babae and sa lahat po ng mga nadamay ko rin po. ‘Yun lamang po, sorry po ulit.”

Jam Villanueva has not yet released a response following the statements from Maris and Anthonyz.

In the midst of the controversy, Ian is busy preparing for his upcoming action series, ‘Incognito’, a highly anticipated ABS-CBN production. The series, which also features Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings, is set to premiere on Netflix on January 17, 2025. It will also air on various Kapamilya platforms, including iWantTFC, Kapamilya Channel, TV5, Jeepney TV, and A2Z, starting January 18.

Ian described Incognito as one of the most ambitious projects of his career, promising audiences an action-packed and thrilling experience.
