Vilma Santos and Adolf Alix VS Nora Aunor and Brilliante Mendoza Team Up

Vilma Santos will not be left behind if Nora Aunor is doing an awards-magnet indie film because she’s also doing one herself!

Superstar Nora Aunor has just finished filming the indie film “Thy Womb” in Tawi-Tawi with no less than Cannes Best Director Brilliante Mendoza at the helm.

The Star for All Seasons, on the other hand, is also set to star on her first indie movie and her director is none other than the multi-awarded Adolfo Alix Jr.

In an interview by Philippine Entertainment Portal, Vilma Santos said she will try to squeeze to her schedules the said indie movie as she is still currently filming the Chito Roño horror flick for Star Cinema–“The Healing”–which also stars Pokwang and Kim Chiu.

In the said project with Adolf Alix, the Star for All Seasons will tackle the role of a gangster-mom. Santos said she already read the script and she really likes the story and the dialogues in the movie. If ever the project pushes through this year, it will be one of the most challenging roles that the she’ll do and it’s very different from her previous ones.

And of course, if the two indie films are released this year, it will be certain that the Nora-Vilma rivalry will resurrect come awards season in 2013.
