It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda revealed how the ABS-CBN noontime show saved the career of host-actor Jhong Hilario.

It is known to many that the biggest break of comedian superstar Vice Ganda on television was the ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime. He started as a judge until he made his way to the stage to be part of the regular hosts. Until now, he remains as one of the main hosts of the show and his and Jhong Hilario’s stories are quite similar.

In the same event, there was a part where the hosts reminisced about their favorite moments in the program. For Hilario, one event he considered as one of the highlights was their segments where they hold dance contests. He is a dancer and during this time, he was still new in the show and part of the judges.

At that time also, he thought that his career was already fading away but when he joined Showtime, he became the “Sample King” and was able to have a redirection. Apart from being a dancer and an actor, he also became a host.

Vice, recalling that moment, shared it was a significant moment in his life. He said, “Kasi yun yung time na feeling niya lumalamlam na yung career niya sa Pilipinas.”

He really thought he’d lose his career at that time because it was quite a long time that he was not here in the Philippines because of Miss Saigon. He was ready to go abroad at that time but because of Showtime, he was given a chance.
