Over the past few weeks, Xian Lim has been vocal in interviews about his past relationship with Kim Chiu, making headlines with his statements. In contrast, Kim has maintained a consistent silence, avoiding questions from the press about their breakup.

However, in an interview with ABS-CBN News, Kim finally opened up, expressing her desire to move on and asking for respect.

Kim started by emphasizing her need for a fresh start. “Entering 2024, sabi ko talaga I just want a fresh start, new beginning and I don’t want to dwell sa past,” she said.

She revealed that she had promised herself not to discuss the breakup, despite persistent efforts to get her reaction to some of Xian’s interviews. She finally decided to share her thoughts on the matter.

Reflecting on her recent social media activity, Kim explained, “Parang ‘yung post ko nung December sabi ko, this will be the last time na pag-uusapan ko ito. Pero parang ang dami pa rin. Parang hindi naman siya mapag-uusapan kung no one’s lighting the fire.”

Her decision to clean up her Instagram account and delete past photos of herself with Xian was a step towards this fresh start.

Kim and Xian’s relationship lasted for 12 years, ending just before Christmas last year. The actress confirmed their breakup, describing it as a mutual decision to transition their relationship into what they hoped would be a lifelong friendship. Despite the amicable end, the continued public discussion has been challenging for Kim.

She expressed her hope that Xian would refrain from making further statements about their past. “It ended, the journey was beautiful. Ayaw ko nang maging masama ‘yung loob ko,” Kim said, her voice tinged with emotion. On the verge of tears, she added, “Kasi paulit-ulit na lang. Let’s give it a rest and let’s leave respect to each other.”

Kim’s plea for respect and closure highlighted her desire to move forward without the constant reminders of her past relationship.
