5 fun things that happened at 'It's Showtime's' 15th anniversary finale

After a week of impressive “Magpasikat” performances, the hosts of “It’s Showtime” capped off the noontime show’s 15th anniversary celebration with a special episode.

Here are some of the fun things that happened at “It’s Showtime’s” anniversary finale on Saturday:

Quiz Showtime

The hosts’ knowledge on the history of “It’s Showtime” was put to the test during a mini quiz game, where they were asked questions about iconic moments from the show.

Vice Ganda and MC won the entire game with a P70,000 prize, which will be donated to victims of the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Vice-Anne’s first hidwaan story

Among the questions asked during Quiz Showtime was: What was the reason behind Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis’ first fight?

They hilariously revealed that it was because of Vice’s watermelon shake that Anne accidentally spilled.

“Sabi niya, ‘That’s not my fault! Nilagay mo diyan!’” Vice said.

Anne said she apologized and offered to buy a new one instead, but Vice told her, “Hindi ganun ‘yon! Dapat hindi ka galit ‘pag nagso-sorry ka!”

“OA days. Hanggang sa nagkaiyakan, lumalabas kami sa TV, naka-shades ako kasi bagong iyak,” Anne said.

The two eventually patched things up after Vice poked Anne and said, “Tama na.”

TNT Champs

Among “It’s Showtime’s” well-loved segments is Tawag ng Tanghalan, and on Saturday’s episode, winners from the singing competition graced the noontime show’s stage again to serenade the audience with song performances.

“This Is Me,” “Halo,” and “Set Fire to the Rain” were among the songs they prepared.

‘Dahil Sa’yo’

The hosts dedicated a meaningful song to their supporters and viewers, with Vice explaining that their chosen piece, “Dahil Sa’yo,” is usually about romantic love, “Pero nung narinig ko, sabi ko ay parang iba na siya.”

The song by Iñigo Pascual includes the lines “Araw araw ikaw ang gusto kong kasama/Buhay ko’y kumpleto na tuwing nandidito ka/Sa tabi ko o aking giliw di pa din ako makapaniwala/Na ang dati kong pangarap ay katotohanan na.”

‘Magpasikat’ winners

And finally, this year’s winners of “Magpasikat” were finally announced.

Team Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, MC, and Lassy clinched the first place, followed by Team Jhong Hilario, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez and Team Anne Curtis, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz.
