“Depression isn’t a joke. Same last name, but thank God we’re not related. Ew. Shame on him and people who think like him,” Mariel tweeted as a disapproval to “Eat Bulaga!” host Joey de Leon.
This particular tweet received mixed reactions, mostly negative from the netizens.

According to Gorgy Rula on his column in Abante-Tonite, “Nagkausap na raw sila ni Mariel at napagsabihan na niya (Sandy Andolong). Nag-post naman daw si Mariel ng sarili niyang pananaw pagtapos mag-sorry ni Tito Joey.”
