MANILA – Meralco concluded the 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup elimination round with a 7-3 win-loss card after conquering also-ran Terrafirma, 124-82, on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Bolts, who capitalized on the absence of key players in Terrafirma, have secured the second seed in Group A after the triumph.

Meanwhile, it was a sad exit for the Dyip despite snatching one against top team TNT on Thursday, 84-72.

But for the Bolts, it was about reentering the win column after losing against Converge, 97-105, earlier this week.

“Sobrang happy ko kasi nakukuha ko na ‘yung game ng PBA, system ni coach Nenad [Vučinić]. And naging patient kasi sila sa ‘kin, mga coaches. Lagi nila akong tinuturuan kung pa’no ang decision-making,” Cansino said during the postgame press conference.

Alvin Pasaol had a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds, while import Allen Durham, who only played for 24 minutes, dropped 14 markers.

On their way out, Antonio Hester tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Mark Sangalang also had 17 for the Dyip’s offense.
