10 times the It’s Showtime fam make fun of their stage props

Over the past 12 years, the It’s Showtime family has been successful in its primary mission of delivering good vibes and making the madlang people happy every noontime, from Monday to Saturday.

While the banters among them are already enough to entertain us, there are times when their kulitan gets a bit over the top as it leads to embarrassing yet funny shenanigans that even almost ‘destroyed’ the set. Let’s look back on some of those moments in this episode of Kapamilya Update!

First off was in an episode of the fun dating game “Kapare-Who” where the stage props almost fell off due to Vice Ganda and Vhong Navarro’s energetic harutan. The same happened to the notorious gong in an episode of Tawag ng Tanghalan after the Unkabogable Host pushed “gong-bassador” Jhong Hilario to it. Luckily, Vhong and one of the crew were to catch it just in time.

And recently, the gregarious hosts repeatedly broke the makeshift blue wall on the It’s Showtime stage in a few episodes of “Sexy Babe” segment. The first one was when Vice got gigil over Vhong in one of their jolly moments. The latter had the chance to exact revenge, but to co-host Ogie Alcasid since Vice was absent that day. It also cracked after Vhong and Vice jokingly pushed Jugs Jugueta to it, during his stint as the “gong-bassador” in a TNT episode.

However, it isn’t only in the recent years when Vice broke something on the set. A few years ago, he unintentionally hit one of the TV screens in his pursuit of making the madlang people laugh in an episode of “Sine Mo ‘To.” As his co-hosts warned that his talent fee for that day would be diminished, he immediately apologized and jestingly asked his sponsors to help him with the payment.

He destroyed another props in the “Sinong Nanay Mo?” segment, much to the amusement of the audiences. And since that prop repeatedly fell off, his co-hosts Billy Crawford, Vhong Navarro, and Karylle, they agreed to tape it to him.

Vice, Jhong, and Vhong also made fun of one of the props used in a TNT performance by turning it into an arch commonly seen in Santacruzan. He then reminded us of the politicians who parade on streets while aboard a moving vehicle, after he embarked on a tower-inspired stage prop uses in an episode of the iconic singing competition.
