Cristy Fermin accuses Kris Aquino of “power tripping”; Kris fires back

Cristy stands by taking a bullet for Mr. Fu and refusing to work with Kris.

This is part of the statement sent by veteran columnist and showbiz talk show host Cristy Fermin to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) today, Monday, November 9.

This is related to the current heated feud between Cristy Fermin and Kris Aquino.

Kris and Cristy—along with Lolit Solis and Mr. Fu—were supposed to team up on an online talk show that would last eight weeks.

Kris and Lolit previously teamed up on Startalk, the defunct showbiz-oriented talk show on GMA-7.

Kris and Cristy teamed up on The Buzz, the defunct showbiz-oriented talk show on ABS-CBN.

Cristy and Mr. Fu teamed up on Juicy, the defunct showbiz-oriented talk show on TV5.

Cristy, Lolit, and Mr. Fu have an ongoing online showbiz-oriented talk show called Take It Perminute, Me Ganun.

THE FOILED ONLINE SHOW
In her program Cristy Ferminute on Radyo Singko, Cristy bluntly said that even if she had to grind salt, she would not want to work with Kris on a project.

The date is November 4, and Cristy will be on the program with co-host Rommel Chika.

What is the reason why the online show of Kris, Lolit, and Mr. Fu was interrupted?

According to Cristy, Kris and Cristy’s triumvirate, Lolit and Mr. Fu, were hired to do an online show, which will be financed by a well-known grocery warehouse store.

The concept is that Kris and the three will be in different places during the program.

They said that the initial meeting was held at Obra Ni Nanay, Cristy’s painting gallery in Quezon City. Cristy was not present at that meeting.

She said, “When we had the meeting, I was not at Obra, so I went home on Tuesday for Cristy Ferminute.

“I’ll still have to travel, the long distance, the traffic, so I didn’t go to the meeting.

“During the meeting, Mr. Fu, Manay Lolit, my son Chuck Gomez, and then the people from [grocery brand], and then Salve Asis, our PM [program manager] for the program [Take It Perminute, Me Ganun] were there.”

Chuck was the mediator between Kris and the grocery brand and Cristy, Lolit, and Mr. Fu.

Cristy was told what would happen to the program, the talent fee, and other details.

THE FEUD
It is not clear when the next meeting took place, but Cristy was surprised when she learned that Mr. Fu would have to be dropped from the online show with Kris.

Cristy told Radyo Singko, “This is it, this Kris Aquino spoke. Manay Lolit Solis had us read her text. Kris Aquino said that she only wanted to be with Manay Lolit and me.

“She said she doesn’t know Mr. Fu. and we’re not on the same level as Mr. Fu.”

Cristy didn’t like what she thought was Kris’s belittling of Mr. Fu.

Cristy also said that this wasn’t the first time Kris refused to be with someone the former Queen of All Media thought was not on her “level.”

Cristy said, “This is it, do you remember when she sat here on Cristy Ferminute in June 2018?”

Kris was a celebrity guest on Cristy’s aforementioned show.

But before the program started, Kris reportedly refused to be with Cristy’s then-co-host Wendell Alvarez, a showbiz reporter.

Kris allegedly said, “No, I don’t want you to join us. You lang. He’s not on our level.”

As Wendell’s co-host, Cristy apologized for this.

But Cristy didn’t expect that when Kris arrived at the studio and while she was briefing her on the three of them, the actress-host would request that Wendell not be included in the show.

Wendell understood the situation and relented.

Now, Cristy said she doesn’t want the same incident to happen again with Mr. Fu.

Cristy continued: “It happened again today, that she doesn’t want to be with Mr. Fu because she doesn’t know him and he’s not on our level either.

“Manay Lolit and I were hurt for Mr. Fu.

“We know Mr. Fu, we know how to be friends and get along and are team players and it’s great to be with Mr. Fu.

“And Mr. Fu has also achieved something. Fu in the line he belongs to.”

Cristy is referring to Mr. Fu’s prominence in the FM radio field.

CRISTY TURNS DOWN THE ONLINE SHOW
According to Cristy’s story on her program, Lolit and Cristy had Mr. Fu read Kris’ text message.

It was better for Mr. Fu to know directly why she couldn’t join the online show than for her to find out from others.

Mr. Fu took a deep breath, but assured Cristy and Lolit that Kris’s refusal to be with him was nothing to do with him.

But Cristy could feel Mr. Fu’s belittling in what she read.

Cristy said: “‘Mom, don’t be angry anymore. I’m yours,’ said Mr. Fu. But Mr. Fu’s voice sounded like he was waiting for a hug.

“It felt like he was robbed of his self-esteem. It felt like he was belittled, like he was belittled.

“Which it didn’t feel like, because that’s exactly how he felt.”

Mr. Fu went After a while in the comfort room, Cristy noticed that his eyes seemed puffy.

“His heart was telling him in his eyes—the man was crying,” Cristy said.

Cristy said she has never been so shy since then.

According to Cristy, “Here we go again Kris. He did it to Wendell Alvarez once, here he is again being a power tripper.

“This is a power trip, for me.”

This is when Cristy decided to turn down the online show with Kris.

She said she told Lolit, “Lolit, I don’t want to do the program anymore, I don’t want to.”

Lolit said she regretted it because they might have given her extra income now that there is a pandemic.

Cristy said she replied, “There is no extra income for the pandemic for me when it comes to principle, Kabsat. I’m sorry.”

“Kabsat” is an Ilocano term for sibling.

Because of Cristy’s decision, Lolit reportedly said that she would no longer do the online show with Kris.

ALLEGED “POWER TRIP” OF KRIS
While Cristy was still speaking on the radio, she came to the point where she openly questioned Kris’ “power trip”.

Kris said that she has not aged at all from her difficult experience of having a showbiz comeback on television.

Cristy’s statement: “Here I am in the position of, ‘Yes, I defend Kris when she is in the right. But I slap her when what she is doing is not right for me.

“How many times have you fallen, there is a saying… that it is not a question of how many times you have fallen because the most important thing is to get up.

“How many times have you been struck by fate? How many networks have you approached and not accepted?”

Cristy thinks Kris’ problem is that she is self-centered.

“Why did even individual projects that you were supposed to do, like ours, not work out?

“Because of your power trip.

“It’s like you’re still the queen sitting on the dais with a throne and a crown, as if you’re still the center of the world, while you’re just one of the stars and planets that revolve around you.

“You’re not the sun.”

Cristy almost burst into tears because Kris allegedly immediately judged Mr. Fu, even though she didn’t know him.

Cristy’s direct statement: “Why did you hurt our friend when you don’t even know him or what his life is like?

“Kris, if you knew Mr. Fu’s life, you might be kneeling down right now to him begging for forgiveness.

“You don’t know what Mr. Fu’s role is in his family.

“You don’t know how many people he helps every day. ‘Then you’ll dump him? You’ll hurt us?”

At this point, Cristy insisted that she didn’t want to work with Kris again.

“Well, Manay Lolit said, ‘Even if you give us a branch of [grocery brand] each, we won’t do the project if you’re with us.’

“And I myself, no matter what you do, no matter what Chuck Gomez does to woo me, Manay, and Mr. Fu, it doesn’t matter.

“I’ll spit salt, Kris Aquino, just don’t be with us.

“Because of your hurting our comrades and friends that you don’t know what your role is in the world.

“We won’t do the project.”

KRIS REACTS TO FALLING-OUT WITH CRISTY

Three days after Cristy’s strong statement against Kris, former entertainment editor Dindo Balares released a statement.

Dindo is close to both Cristy, whom he considers “mother,” and Kris, whom he considers “son.”

Through an Instagram post on November 7, Dindo urged the two camps to reconcile.

Here, Kris fired back against Cristy.

In the comments section on November 8, Kris stated (published as is): “I’m here to stay, brother Dindo… did I speak against your ‘mother’?

“Did I block their group? Did I insult her character?

“Of all the times she has spoken to me with all the most hurtful below-the-belt insults from head to toe—did I even interrupt once?”

Kris did not elaborate on the content of her message to Lolit regarding Mr. Fu.

But Kris said she has a copy of the exchange between her and Lolit from October 28.

Kris insisted (published as is): “They should bring out anyone from the [grocery brand] side who can prove the allegations against them – because the client, the producer, is the one who can clarify everything…”

Kris said she did not want to elaborate further because “with the many problems of people and my responsibilities in life, this is not my priority.”

She added, “i cannot control what people will say about me or do to me, BUT i can control my reaction & subsequent actions.”

LOLIT SOLIS’S SIDE OF THE STORY
On November 5, Lolit explained the text message she received from Kris through an Instagram post.

Kris admitted to Lolit that she was not comfortable with Mr. Fu being a co-host, so Kris requested that the four of them have a trial period on the online show.

The joke is that Kris agreed to be with Mr. Fu for four episodes of the online show, before deciding whether to continue with Mr. Fu on the show.

But Lolit didn’t think that it would be a spark of conflict between Cristy and Kris.

Lolit said (published as is): “I don’t know how Cristy got attacked when I explained that Kris was not comfortable with Mr. Fu, so she has a grace period of 4 episodes.

“On Tuesday, we even made it a running joke, that Mr. Fu was just on trial and Kris Aquino didn’t know him.

“I actually saw how high Mr. Fu’s EQ was because he accepted what Kris said.”

Lolit added, “In fairness to Kris, the initial plan was for her to have a solo talkshow, she just thought it would be nice to have Cristy and I there for the banters and repartee, and her explanation was good that she wasn’t comfortable with Mr. Fu because she didn’t know him very well.”

Lolit also explained that she informed Cristy and Mr. Fu’s group about Kris’ text message so that they would know the reason in case Mr. Fu was eliminated come the fifth episode of the show.

From Lolit’s understanding, Kris’ condition doesn’t seem to be an issue with Mr. Fu.

Lolit also felt that “maybe I didn’t do a good job in Mr. Fu’s case” so maybe Cristy had a different experience.

Despite the show being postponed, Lolit said she hopes, “I hope with or without this show, that relationship will return, which shouldn’t have been affected.”

CRISTY STANDS BY FEELING HURT BY KRIS
In Cristy’s latest statement to PEP.ph this Monday, November 9, she stated that she was deeply hurt by Kris’s belittling of her partner Mr. Fu.

This is related to Kris’s backlash against Cristy, in the comments section of Dindo Balares’ Instagram post.

“We read Kris’ message to Dindo about the issue that hurt our feelings.

“Her belittling of Mr. Fu, who according to her, she doesn’t know and we’re not on the same level as Manay Lolit Solis.

“Kris asked if she hurt our character?

“True. Yes, yes. We were hurt for our children and for being part of the digital show that [grocery brand] is hiring to be with her on a project.”

According to Cristy, she couldn’t bear to hurt the feelings of her close co-worker just because of Kris’ “whim.”

“If Kris didn’t value her co-workers and friends, we would have different policies in life.

“We are sharing bullets for the people we love who are in the right.

“How can we handle Kris Aquino’s words that changing minds is worse than a directionless storm?”

CRISTY: “IT’S HARD TO DEFEAT KRIS AQUINO.”

Cristy also returned to Kris the TV host-actress’ challenge that only the client, or representative of the grocery brand, can clarify the reason why their online show was interrupted.

“The [grocery brand] project’s failure, don’t throw the evidence on us to show why it didn’t work out, the sponsor’s management knows the reason why, Chuck Gomez knows, Manay Lolit and Mr. Fu know.”

Cristy insisted, “The reason is her.”

Part of Cristy’s statement to PEP.ph—which can also be read in her columns in the newspaper tomorrow, November 10—was that Kris is good at playing games to get what she wants.

“Kris Aquino is a difficult opponent.

“Her mind is like a storm—mischievous, without direction.

“Whatever she wants to say and do, even a king will lose his voice, her whim will still prevail.”

In the end, Cristy said, “This issue should be over. We’ve already expressed our emotions, we’ve already given our opinions, the story about the failure of the project that Kris Aquino and I were supposed to collaborate on should be curled up in bed.”

CRISTY-KRIS RIFT IN 2007
Cristy and Kris first had a falling out when they were still together on the defunct show The Buzz.

February 2007, Cristy and Kris reportedly didn’t greet each other for two weeks because of the affair between James Yap and Hope Centeno.

In two consecutive episodes of The Buzz, Kris’s coldness towards her co-host and defender on all issues was obvious.

According to Cristy, Kris ignored her even when they were in the same frame. Kris only talked to their other co-host, Boy Abunda.

Cristy further elaborated through her column in the tabloids regarding this, saying she wanted to “fall and slide off the stage” in front of Kris’s death-defying stare.

Kris also sometimes looked at her “from head to toe.”

The fight between the friends and co-hosts reportedly started when Cristy revealed everything she knew about James’ alleged girlfriend, Hope.

Hope is a former employee at Belo Medical Group, and she is the one who approached Cristy to tell her story about her relationship with James as early as January 2007.
