TV host-comedian Vice Ganda recently made a lighthearted joke about actor Alden Richards’ hosting style at the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night, which took place on Wednesday evening, May 22.
The jest occurred during the noontime show ‘It’s Showtime,’ in the segment ‘EXpecially For You.’
The humorous moment began when a searcher named Shane mentioned the word “Bakit” in a pick-up line, prompting Vice to jokingly react with mock fear. Co-host Kim noticed Shane’s ex-boyfriend laughing and asked why, to which he replied, “Parang siga.”
Vice then imagined a scenario where someone’s boyfriend acts overly intense, saying, “Parang ‘pag boyfriend ka niya, tapos natahimik ka. Sasabihin mo, ‘Anong problema?’ You reply, ‘Tapos sasabihin mo, ‘Wala!’ ‘Ano ngaaaaa??? Meron!’”
This led Vice to humorously comment on Alden’s hosting style during the pageant, mimicking his loud and intense manner of announcing the candidates’ locations.
“Parang si Alden sa MUPH kahapon. BULACAN! CEBU! Galit si Alden kahapon ‘di ba. QUEZON PROVINCE!”Vice exclaimed.
Alden’s energetic and forceful way of calling out the candidates’ locations became a trending topic on social media following the event.
