Chie Filomeno took to her Instagram account to remind her fans and other netizens how bad body shaming could be for one’s mental health. The Kapamilya star reshared a story she posted from six years ago.

“Just a reminder to most Filipinos who love to body shame,” she wrote in her caption.

In her old story from 2018, Chie expressed that people should mind their own business and how body shaming will never be okay–– both for skinny and fat people.

“We live in a society that demands so much from us, you have to be this, you have to be that. Well in fact you just have to be YOU! You do you! How sad that there are so many cruel people in this amazing universe, and that some girls are bringing each other down when we should be the one lifting each other up,” she said.

“Body shaming is not okay, it’ll never be okay. Not ever. Body shaming needs to stop! Fat or skinny may it be a woman or a man. It needs to stop,” she added.

The Can’t Buy Me Love actress made sure to remind her followers that every body type is different from one another so they shouldn’t be compared at all.

“Everyone is beautiful in their own skin, don’t let them tell you otherwise. Stop talking about fat or skinny women or men like their bodies are a tragedy. Their bodies are beautiful. Every body is beautiful. We are all beautiful,” she continued.

“No body is a tragedy and don’t ever let anyone shame you for being you,” she ended.

Friends and fans of the actress applauded her for speaking up on behalf of those who were body shamed. Several netizens expressed their gratitude as her old story was what they needed to hear.

“I love you ate chie. I was crying kanina due to my insecurities. this really helped, mahal talaga kita,” a fan shared.
