Marian Rivera encourages people to pursue their glow-up goals: “There’s nothing wrong…”

At her contract renewal press conference for NuWhite, held on July 31, 2024, in Quezon City, she stated, “There’s nothing wrong. You know, it depends on what people think will boost their confidence.

“I have nothing against those who want to enhance their beauty, lighten their skin, or improve their complexion. That’s normal.

“In our world today, there’s no reason not to be beautiful. So for me, I agree with that, and I will support them one hundred percent.”

However, Marian stressed the importance of consulting experts or doing research before trying new products.

“As people, we shouldn’t just believe what our friends say or what we see or read on social media immediately.

“It would be good to learn to read what’s really in the products and what will happen when you take them.

“Sometimes, you might see something like, ‘Oh, this makes you whiter, I’ll take it.’ But you don’t know if it really works. What are the ingredients? Is it safe for you?

“So we need to be aware of what we consume because that’s very important. Just because you lighten your skin doesn’t mean you’re beautiful or safe.”

Marian Rivera on Aging Gracefully

Marian recently celebrated her 40th birthday and offers a refreshing perspective on beauty.

Embracing aging gracefully, she is unafraid of the process.

In her words, “Aging, there’s nothing wrong with getting older, but of course, it’s better if you age while taking care of yourself if you can.”

Self-care is crucial for everyone, whether a celebrity or not.

She said, “That’s necessary. Just because you’re an artist, that’s what I want to extend to people: regardless of your job, don’t forget to take care of yourself.

“Whether you’re a woman or a man, it’s really important to take care of yourself.

“Because that’s where everything starts. Imagine waking up in the morning in a bad mood—your whole day will be bad.

“But when you wake up and say, ‘Oh, I look good,’ for sure, you’ll be positive for the rest of the day.

“So it’s very important to give importance to yourself before anything else.”

As a mom, her self-care routine is not just a personal necessity but also a valuable lesson for her children, Zia and Sixto.

Marian continued, “I always say, as a mom and a wife, I need to be complete in myself, love myself, and my children see that.

“How can I teach my kids to take care of themselves if they see me not taking care of myself?

“So, for me, even without saying anything, my kids see how I take care of myself.

“For sure, when they grow up, they will do the same. It’s modeling, after all.”

Meanwhile, Marian is grateful for the opportunity to renew her contract with the brand for the third consecutive year.

At the press conference, the brand’s CEO, Maureen Estrada, explained why they chose to extend their partnership with Marian.

Maureen said, “Of course, as a brand owner, we want beauty. But that’s not really what we loved about Marian.

“First and foremost, she’s one of the most credible endorsers here in the Philippines. We want only the best for NuWhite, and we got that.

“Secondly, we want natural beauty.

“Marian Rivera’s beauty, whether she has makeup or not, still glows. That’s what we need.”
