Kris Aquino reveals waiving ex-husband James Yap’s child support for Bimby
Kris Aquino says she waived ex-husband James Yap’s child support so they could live peacefully.
Kris Aquino has sole custody of Bimby, her son with former husband James Yap.
Kris confirmed this in a comment on Instagram, saying she has waived child support from James for Bimby.
Child support is defined as the court-ordered financial support usually made by the non-custodial divorced/separated parent to his/her minor child or children.
In this case, James is the non-custodial parent of Bimby, the minor child.
Prior to Kris’s admission, a netizen asked her if Bimby, 10, is home-schooled.
The 46-year-old host-actress replied that her son is indeed home-schooled and is now on fifth grade.
In one of the comments that followed, a netizen (@kurikongsgt) second-guessed James and said the 35-year-old basketball player is probably thinking that home-school is Kris’s idea to prevent him from visiting his son in a regular school.
Kris reacted, remarking that she couldn’t care less what James thinks.
She wrote, “[I]t hurt Bimb deeply when his dad said he didn’t want to be a father to him…”
Kris added that she decided to waive James’s child support for their son despite a compromise agreement “so we’ll live our lives peacefully.”
Kris said what she hopes to do now is to be the best mom to her sons.
JAMES LAMENTS. In a PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) article last August, the 35-year-old PBA player lamented that he has not seen his son for eight months, even if the court has granted him visitation rights to see Bimby every Friday.
Asked what’s stopping him from visiting Bimby, James replied, “You know, in reality, it’s hard to force yourself, right? It’s hard to force yourself when you don’t want to… you know that?”
He also revealed that Bimby may have already detached himself from him.
