The long wait is over as Star Cinema dropped the first look on Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s comeback film “Rewind”!
In the movie’s first video drop released on Monday, November 13, Dingdong and Marian portray an unhappy married couple, with Marian enduring Dingdong’s bad temper and ill treatment. Their son witnesses how miserable his parents are, particularly his mom whom he describes as “sad every day.”
Tension is truly palpable in their marriage as viewers also see how other family members are affected, including friends who comment about the character of Marian making excuses for her husband played by Dingdong.
A scene then shows Marian picking a black dress for an occasion. Dingdong mocks her for her choice, saying it makes her look like she will be attending a wake. But Dingdong is quickly caught by surprise as Marian answers: “Lamay ko naman talaga, eh.”
The video then cuts to a scene where a car figures in what appears to be an accident, followed by flashes of a “rewind” to the couple’s younger and happier years.
In an interview with “TV Patrol” moments prior to the video drop, Marian and Dingdong spoke about how special the movie is for them in so many ways.
“For 13 years, ito yung comeback namin, kaya very excited talaga ako,” Marian said. “Kapag napanood nila ang pelikulang ‘to, talagang lalabas sila ng sinehan na iiyak talaga sila.”
“Ito ay tungkol sa mag-asawa sa konteksto ng pamilyang Pilipino sa panahon ng kapaskuhan. Isa itong kwento na gusto talaga naming i-share sa mga manonood,” Dingdong added. “Kasi iba talaga ‘pag napanood sa sinehan.”
“Rewind” is a collaboration between Star Cinema, APT Entertainment, and AgostoDos Media. The film is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar and is among the official entries to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival.
