Ronaldo has reignited his feud with Ten Hag after falling out with the Dutchman at Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a fresh attack on Erik ten Hag to reignite his feud with the Manchester United manager.
Ronaldo, 39, fell out with Ten Hag during their time together at Old Trafford, with the dispute resulting in an ugly end to his second spell at the club.
Ronaldo left United midway through the 2022/23 season after falling out of favour with Ten Hag, with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner joining Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr at the start of the January window.
Ronaldo said he felt “betrayed” by United for trying to force him out of the club and said he had “no respect” for Ten Hag.
“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said in an infamous interview with Piers Morgan.
“If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

Ronaldo has now launched another attack on Ten Hag, questioning the Dutchman’s recent claim that United are “a long way” away from winning the Premier League.
“Manchester United, they need to rebuild everything, in my opinion. The coach, they say they cannot compete to win the League and Champions League. Manchester United coach, you cannot say that you’re not going to fight to win the League or Champions League,” Ronaldo told FIVE [via UtdReport].
“You have to be, to mentally say, listen, maybe we don’t have that potential, but I cannot say that. We’re going to try. You have to try.”
Speaking to Dutch newspaper AD Sportwereld before the start of the campaign, Ten Hag said: “We want this club back to where it was more than a decade ago, to a club that wins the Premier League, which can win Champions Leagues.
“We are really a long way away from that.”
However, last month Ten Hag also claimed United were capable of winning major trophies under his guidance.

“We are confident, we have a good team, we have a good squad. We have to be more consistent and we want to win every competition in which we are taking part, definitely also the Premier League,” he said in a separate interview.
The Portuguese star insists he did “amazing” during his second spell at United before his contract was terminated.
“When I’m back at United, I was very happy. I was one of the best scorers,” he added, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
“I did unbelievable things with the club. My first season at 37, I was the third best scorer of the league.
“I scored all the group stage. I scored every game. Even in the league, I scored 17 goals or 18 goals. I did amazing.”
Despite his acrimonious exit, Ronaldo insists he “still loves” United and wants to see the club succeed under Ten Hag.
“We cannot control some points in our life sometimes, but it’s done… I repeat, I still love Manchester United and I wish them the best,” he added, as reported by GOAL.
