Showbiz History: Gerald Anderson tearfully admits hurting Kim Chiu’s feelings

Gerald: “Di po kami boyfriend-girlfriend, but we had a special relationship.”

On October 12, 2010, Gerald Anderson suddenly bursts into tears during a press conference for his movie Till My Heartaches End with then love team partner and rumored girlfriend Kim Chiu after he was asked about the current status of their relationship.

It was exactly ten years ago when Gerald Anderson cried while admitting he hurt the feelings of his love team partner and then rumored girlfriend Kim Chiu. . 

This happened at the press conference of Kim and Gerald’s movie,  Till My Heartaches End,  at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN Compound, Quezon City.

Twenty-one years old noon si Gerald, at 20 years old si Kim.

It had been four years since their love team, nicknamed by fans as “Kimerald.”

The “special relationship” between them has been four years.

But before the presscon, the news spread that anything between Kim and Gerald was over.

Their breakup was attributed to Gerald being linked to various women, which naturally angered many Kimerald fans.

That was also the time when Gerald’s courtship with another Kapamilya actress, Bea Alonzo, was reported.

TEARFUL, APOLOGETIC GERALD

Gerald was confirmed to be affected by the layered intrigue he faced.

He couldn’t stop himself from being emotional when asked by an entertainment columnist: Has Gerald ever asked Kim if she loves him?

Instead of answering the question, Gerald admitted his shortcomings to Kim.

“During the four years that we had a special relationship, we shared very happy moments together. We care for each other.

“There are times when we hurt each other. More often I am. But, because it hurts…” this is when Gerald started to cry while Kim was next to him.

“I gave Kim a lot of problems, heartaches,” Gerald admitted. “But he still accepted me.

“For me, I know that no matter what time, no matter what I do, I still can’t match everything that Kim did for me. The acceptance of me.
