Actor Xian Lim has finally clarified his current relationship status with film producer Iris Lee after months of speculations.

In an interview for Esquire magazine’s cover story, Xian confirmed that he and the film producer are currently seeing each other.

“Yes, I’m seeing Iris,” Xian announced.

“Just to clear everything, to clear all the speculations. We are seeing each other and we are very happy,” he added.

Xian also put an end to all the rumors that have circulated online regarding his breakup with actress and host Kim Chiu last December..

“These are the things that I want to clarify. Number one: that there was a third party. There’s no third party. That’s it. That plain and simple,” Xian clarified.

He also added that he and Iris are not married and not living together, contrary to what has been claimed by some netizens.

“Another rumor: when I see my friends—the people who are the last to even care about these things — kino-congratulate na ko. They say, ‘Congratulations on the marriage in New York!’ And I’m like, no, I am not married,” he expressed.

He went on: “And there’s also this one absurd article, or a thing said about me, that I have been living with someone for years na daw. The only people I live with is my mom, my lola, my lolo. These are the things na, parang, it’s just so absurd and it’s just…why?!”

Xian then stated how the rumors about his new relationship got out of hand and that it affected not only himself but also the people around him.

“Things happen in life that we’re not going to be able to control. And as much as we don’t want it to happen, life happens. And it just pains me na parang may mga taong nadamay. That just really saddens me and that’s very unfortunate,” he said.

“Ang busy-busy ni Iris, ang busy-busy ko. She has a lot on her plate, and I have a lot on my plate. And, you know, she doesn’t deserve all that flak. We don’t deserve that because all the things na people are saying, there’s no truth to any of it,” he continued.

Last December 23, Xian penned a lengthy message to his ex-girlfriend Kim with whom he had been in a relationship for 12 years.

“We have expressed our love for each other to the fullest and knowing that I got to share those moments with you, knowing our hearts beat as one at one point in our lives is truly something I will cherish for life,” he wrote.

Xian also added that though they had decided to part ways, it doesn’t stop him from respecting and admiring Kim as an actress and as a person.

“Like all good things, it must eventually come to an end. I am grateful for all the moments we shared together. Thank you for all the unconditional love throughout the years. My respect and admiration for you as a person, as an artist, and as someone I spent more than a decade with will always remain,” he continued.

Although the two never disclosed the reason for their breakup, rumors speculated about a possible third party as Xian was spotted with the Filipino-Chinese film producer Iris, whom he worked with in his past projects.

“Iris is a talented filmmaker. She’s my producer, and she’s also my creative partner,” Xian said in the same interview with Esquire.
