It’s the battle between the former MVP and the reigning MVP for the top individual award.
This was after June Mar Fajardo and Scottie Thompson was currently placed 1-2 in the MVP statistical race released by the PBA on Thursday.
The six-time MVP is currently on top of the standings, tallying 28.9 statistical points (SPs).
Fajardo led the Beermen in claiming the All-Filipino championship by toppling TNT Tropang in seven games of the finals.
He was named Finals MVP and Best Player of the Conference (BPC) during the opening conference.
On the other hand, Thompson holds the second spot with 24.9 SPs.
The 29-year-old do-it-all guard played a pivotal role in Ginebra’s title run in the Commissioner’s Cup, and he also won the BPC award.
Fajardo’s teammate, CJ Perez, is placed at No. 3 with 24.6 SPs, followed by NorthPort’s Robert Bolick with 23.2 SPs.
Ginebra’s Jamie Malonzo (21.9 SPs) and Christian Standhardinger (21.1 SPs) are seated at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.
TNT’s Mikey Williams is currently seventh with 20.6 SPs, while Ginebra veteran Japeth Aguilar holds the eighth spot with 20.4 SPs.
Completing the top 10 are Don Trollano of NLEX (20.30 SPs) and TNT’s Roger Pogoy (20.28 SPs).
