Sandy Andolong opened up about her relationship with Nora Aunor, the ex-wife of her husband, Christopher de Leon, in an interesting conversation on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on Tuesday. She shared that although the two do not see each other often, when they do, they always have a polite and respectful relationship. Sandy revealed that their meetings are mostly just polite greetings, “Hi, Hello” without much in-depth conversation. She admitted that, although they do not have a close relationship, everything is fine when they meet.
Regarding her relationship with Nora and Christopher’s children, Sandy said that she loves her husband’s stepchildren like her own children. She recalled a conversation with Lotlot de Leon, Christopher and Nora’s adopted daughter, in which she shared her feelings and words of sympathy: “Alam ko naman and I understand how you feel but I need you to know your mother is your mother and I can never replace her but I can be a good friend to you.” She also asserted, “Hindi ko inaagaw ang daddy mo sa inyo, don’t ever think that,” to let Lotlot know that she had no intention of taking her mother’s place.
Christopher de Leon and Nora Aunor married in 1975 and divorced in 1996. Christopher then married Sandy in 2001 and they had five children together: Rafael, Miguel, Gabriel, Mariel, and Mica. Mariel, their daughter, won the Binibining Pilipinas International 2017 pageant and competed in Miss International that same year. Despite the changes in family life, the relationship between Sandy and Christopher’s children has always been one of love and respect.
