Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino are set to star together in the romantic comedy film My Love Will Make You Disappear. The film promises to offer a refreshing experience for fans of Philippine cinema.
Kapamilya star Kim Chiu recently shared an update about the upcoming movie with Paulo Avelino, titled My Love Will Make You Disappear.
On her Instagram Stories, Kim posted snapshots from the cast and crew meeting, writing, “My Love Will Make You Disappear. Coming soon!”
Actor Nico Antonio also shared a photo of the cast and the film’s director, Chad Vidanes. Other cast members include Wilma Doesnt, Lovely Abella, Karina Bautista, Martin Escudero, and Benj Manalo.
The First Collaboration Between Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino
In August, it was announced that Kim and Paulo would be teaming up for the first time in a movie. On the noontime show It’s Showtime, Kim announced, “Since we’ve brought you to TV and on tour, we’re excited to share that Paulo and I, together with Star Cinema, have a big gift for you: My Love Will Make You Disappear.”
Director Chad Vidanes on the Project
Director Chad Vidanes revealed that this project is a romantic comedy. He shared, “Of course, we’ve missed Star Cinema’s rom-com films. I think the last true-blue rom-com from Star Cinema was pre-pandemic.”
He continued, “This concept was created by Prime Cruz and will be written by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio. It’s very interesting to me. It’s a classic rom-com, yet it feels very new.”

A Promising Storyline and Audience Anticipation
Although plot details remain under wraps, Chad shared his initial thoughts: “It’s very interesting to me. It’s a classic rom-com, but it feels very fresh.”
He hinted that the movie will explore “how the magic of love can lead to wild and fun moments,” and teased that audiences should expect plenty of surprises as Star Cinema enters a new era of filmmaking.
Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s Previous Collaborations
Kim and Paulo have previously worked together in the series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim* and *Linlang.
In a past interview, Kim expressed her gratitude to fans for supporting their team-up: “It’s amazing to see so many people supporting us. It really surprises us, and we’re very thankful.”
The film My Love Will Make You Disappear is expected to be a much-anticipated project, marking the return of romantic comedies from Star Cinema and showcasing the natural chemistry between Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.
