After weeks, the incessant teasing about the supposed romance between Vice Ganda and Ion Perez off-camera appears far from over, as Jhong Hilario insisted on Thursday that the “kilig” between the two “It’s Showtime” regulars is real.
Perez has, for months, played the third wheel in the popular “ViceJack” tandem on the noontime program. While he and Vice Ganda have had playful interactions in the past, co-hosts of “It’s Showtime” have noticeably dropped candid hints that the sweetness has spilled over to real life.
During Thursday’s Miss Q&A segment, where Perez and dancer Jackque Gonzaga regularly join the hosts on stage, Vice Ganda asked both how they plan to show their support for him in his upcoming 3-night concert at the Araneta Coliseum.
Gonzaga said she has already bought tickets for her and her family, and will cheer from the audience.
Perez, meanwhile, said he won’t be in the audience, but backstage, where he will make sure to give personal encouragement for the “Fantastica” star before each performance.
At that point, Hilario noticed Vice Ganda beaming — and while the comedian denied it was out of “kilig,” Hilario insisted otherwise. Vice Ganda protested, specifically calling out Perez for laughing along with Hilario.
In a moment that apparently broke Perez’s “Kuya Escort” character, he told Vice Ganda, “Dalawang araw ka nang wala, [tapos] ganyan ka, galit ka.”
“Sinisumbatan ka!” Hilario interjected, after repeatedly suggesting that their on-cam quarrel drew from an actual incident.
Vice Ganda, who was noticeably caught off-guard, responded, “Wow! Parang show mo na ‘to, ha!”
In the face of constant teasing from his co-hosts about the supposed romance, Vice Ganda has only responded jokingly and has not given a serious answer on his ties with Perez.
