Caroline palaban scenes Can’t Buy Me Love

From endearing us as an adorable child star, Belle Mariano has impressed us as one of the most promising leading ladies of her generation. In recent years, we’ve witnessed her growth as an actress through the variety of roles that she has portrayed, with the rebellious and nonchalant heiress Caroline Tiu in the well-loved series Can’t Buy Me Love being her latest.

Throughout the past seven months of its run, we’ve seen how Caroline bravely faces all the challenges that come her way not just in getting along well with her father’s legitimate family, but also in seeking the truth behind the mysterious death of her mother, Divine (Shaina Magdayao), and attaining real justice for her.

With the series now down to its remaining few weeks, let’s look back on some of Caroline’s palaban moments in this Kapamilya Update that totally show how a true femme fatale she really is and how a good actress Belle is.

Let us begin in one of her memorable scenes during the pilot week wherein she didn’t allow her half-sister Irene (Maris Racal) to stomp on her and talk ill against her mom on the very day that she was remembering her death. Caroline got really piqued when Irene told her to kill herself just like what her late mom presumptively did, which prompted her to shove her to the floor and warn her against badmouthing her mom again.

And we know that it didn’t end there as Irene once again got Caroline fuming mad when she used her name to deceive other people and her transactions, which even got her detained.

Even though her Achi (older sister) Bettina (Kaila Estrada) has treated her badly, Caroline still cares for her. Despite being painted as a liar after she exposed the illicit affair of Bettina’s fiancé Edward (Enzo Pineda) with her best friend Liv (Rhen Escaño), Caroline still willingly protected her achi from him by forcefully punching him on the forehead when she caught him harassing Bettina inside his office. Sadly, instead of thanking or finally believing in Caroline, her achi got mad at her instead for meddling with her personal life.

We also felt how extremely upset Caroline was when her family kept on evading her questions regarding the truth behind her mom’s demise, as well as invalidating her pain and grief and advising her to move forward instead, during what was supposed to be their hearty breakfast to welcome back Bettina from her long vacation.

Although she wasn’t the choice of anyone to be the next Chief Operations Officer (COO) of their family company, including her dad Wilson (Rowell Santiago) who would step down from the said position, in spite of her qualifications, Caroline still mustered the courage to nominate herself. This further caused a heated argument among the Tius as all her siblings wanted to sit on the throne, too.

Upon learning from Carissa (Aya Fernandez), the ex-girlfriend of her Ahiya (older brother) Charleston (Albie Casiño) went to her with his clothes drenched in blood that eventful night when Divine died, Caroline couldn’t help but feel angry because, all along, one of the people that she trusts the most actually has knowledge on the crime. Yet, Charleston kept it as a secret for decades just to save himself from being questioned about his possible involvement in the case, which made it difficult for Caroline to trust him anymore.

And lastly, emotions were indeed high when Cindy (Ruffa Gutierrez) and her son Carlo (Joao Constancia), another family of Wilson, lunged into them while they were visiting Divine’s grave. Cindy reprimanded Caroline for involving Carlo in the hullaballoo after the latter was able to retrieve the weapon used to murder her mom in Carlo’s belongings. Caroline once again lambasted for continuously gatekeeping the truth from her, which erupted to a chaotic debate among them and triggered Wilson’s heart attack.
