MANILA — After the media conference, “Hello, Love, Again” lead stars Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards sat down with ABS-CBN News for a fun Q&A game with a lie detector test.
First, we asked Richards if he thought “Hello, Love, Goodbye” was the first and last time he would ever work with Bernardo. He said: “Yes. Kasi work naman eh. Akala ko lang last na yun.”
Second, we asked Bernardo if it’s true she pulled some strings to make “Palagi” the official soundtrack of their movie. The Kapamilya actress answered with a resounding “yes.”
She said: “Ginamit ko na ‘yung friendship card ko. That song, when they released ‘Palagi’ naging sobrang gusto ko siya na OPM song. Gustong gusto ko yung kanta na yun. Tapos last few days in Canada, nag-post si KZ (Tandingan) na gagawa sila ng different version this time with KZ.”
“Pag-uwi ko dito, ni-release nila ‘yun, sabi ko lang ang perfect, meant to be. Nag-release sila ng duet version, tapos it’s like the life of Ethan and Joy, their love story. And parang sobrang bagay lang siya.”
Thirdly, we asked Bernardo if Richards is the “cute boy with a white jacket and thick accent.” For context, a few days ago Kathryn uploaded a short video on TikTok using a clip of Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song “Bed Chem” that had the line “who’s the cute boy with a white jacket and thick accent?” In the video, Bernardo can be seen pulling a guy’s hand wearing a white jacket.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out and assume that it was Richards’ hand. But hours after, a behind-the-scenes video of Bernardo’s TikTok video came out showing that it was her road manager Arly’s arm and not Richards’.
We sought for her explanation and she said: “Si Kuya Arly ‘yun. Ang tagal ko na kasing hindi nag-TikTok. Nasa taping kami noon for ‘All-out Sundays’. Jacket ni Tisoy (Richards). Ano ba ‘yung video na mabilis na arte-arte lang. So hiniram ko ‘yung jacket niya sa dressing room.”
Lastly, we asked Richards if it’s true that she gifted Bernardo with a ring. The actor, smiling back at his leading lady, affirmed and confirmed. He explained that it wasn’t for Bernardo’s birthday but it was after they came from a party of their friend.
“We came from a party of a friend tapos the next day nag-message lang sa akin si Kath na she lost her ring,” he said.
Bernardo also clarified that it’s a health ring — which helps her sleep better and monitor some of her health vitals.
Richards said, “Nag-extra effort lang naman tayo ng konti…” but revealed that Bernardo eventually found her lost ring. Now she has two.
“So naging dalawa na. Ewan ko na lang ‘pag hindi pa ma-monitor ang health ko nito.”
We teased Richards, “Hindi yan ginagawa ng normal friend.” And both just gave intriguing smiles.
“Hello Love Again” will hit cinemas on November 13.
Couples that train together, stay together.
Amid their busy schedule, TV host and Tutok-to-Win partylist representative Sam Verzosa said that he and partner Rhian Ramos do their best to find time to prepare together for their marathon in New York, United States, on Nov. 4.
“Nagpapalakas tayo. Pag may oras tumatakbo kami, gym. Ng isang araw nag 21 km kami,” Verzosa said in an interview after his rice distribution program at Barrio Obrero Elementary School in Manila City, Saturday.
The Manila City Mayor aspirant shared that apart from their fitness dates Ramos often accompanies him during his medical missions and charity work in the area— which he said also helps them build stamina.
“Minsan sumasama siya sa charity works and medical mission. ‘Di nawawala ‘yan. Training ko na rin tong ikot ko, nag eenjoy ako sa mga lolo at lola ko. hinahalikan ako. Nakakatulong preparation sa ikot namin. May lakas ako,” be said.
While the businessman is getting physically stronger, he admitted on the digital landscape he is getting tired of taking hits from the alleged supporters and supposed trolls of his Manila Mayoralty rivals.
“Nandito lang ako para magbigay tulong. Pero di ko alam bakit ako ang binubugbog sa social media. Lagi nila binabayaran trolls para siraan ako. Kaya ako andito at nang gigil— masakit. Below the belt minsan. Nasasaktan ako eh. Ayoko sabayan pero tao lang ako. pepersonalin mo ako. lilihis mo sa akin— dapat ikaw nag-explain.Kahit aso sapakin mo, iiyak at kakagat sinasabi ko,” he said.
Nevertheless, Verzosa said he will continue making rounds with his mobile clinics, mobile boutiques, etc.
“Na-bless na ako ng sobra-sobra. Galing lahat sa sarili nating bulsa, gusto ko pakita, kung kaya ko gawin, what more pa kung city hall,” he said. “Sasamahan ko Manilenyo hanggang dulo.”
